  • Ojai 1977 - Public Talk 6 - What is the significance of meditation?
    Summary:
    When there is no observer and jealousy occurs, it blossoms and then ends, like a flower that blooms, withers and dies away. As long as you’re fighting, resisting or rationalising, you’re giving life to it.
    Is there is an action which is whole and never contradictory, therefore an action that does not bring about tension, division?
    Meditation is the attention in which there is no registration psychologically. Out of that comes complete silence, because thought has come to an end. Thought functions only where it is absolutely necessary.
    Silence demands space in the whole structure of consciousness.

    What an extraordinary musing. I comprehend why K vehemently dismisses the need of a teacher for meditation. However, as K said it in one of his previous discussions, it is okay to point out to someone that they are heading in the wrong direction. K uses an example of someone heading towards south all their life, and a person comes along and says that there is a great danger ahead and that the direction should be changed to north. Here the directional reference is allegorical in that the new direction is a path of investigation, a path to self-awareness, a path to study oneself profoundly to the point that one fully comprehends the concept of conflict, operation of thought, psychological time, and observer-observed. When one reaches to this point of travel heading “north” or when one keeps their “house” in order, then this current discussion of K makes total sense to the listener and then there is no need to hear anything else. This discussion is sublime. K is a light that exhorts us to change the direction of our life’s travel.

    The ending of finite consciousness through the immense force of negation is not something common to the conditioned mind/brain structures inherent to the traditional mainstream knowledge that is currently provided as guidance by professionals for the wellbeing of society. As we rely almost single handedly on advice from society’s educators and family connections, we inevitably live a second hand existence and therefore seldom find trust in ourselves to stand alone or be a light unto ourselves. In fact, society actively discourages such action through a bombardment of public information programs designed to persuade people to comply with the norms of standard codes of thinking and actions.
    So, given that the conditioning is deep and thoroughly comprehensive, it obviously takes an enormous degree of self awareness and a sense of extensive questioning of the efficacy of the status quo to get to a point where a new quality of clarity emerges from the cloud of being burdened by seemingly endless psychological suffering.
    Krishnamurti’s detailed mirroring of an insight into other holistic dimensions of understanding somehow opens up unforeseen streams of non-frictional energy that make it possible to be the light unto itself, not myself or yourself and begin anew to live unconditionally.

    meditative mind is the religious mind , speed absolute zero, time less, absolutely quiet , unlimited space time less , so holy sacred , where thought enters, thought has the right place, mind can come upon that is eternal and sacred , brain can touch the infinity , that is the religious mind with unlimited love and compassion , unconditional love not self centred at all, one with whole universe no conflict , not fragmented where only love flourish

      Empty consciousness, observe, aware and last attend to the transformational act ….. you above the dead pain on the floor. At this point you are wholistic and that is the milestone of transform territories….. pure intelligent you.

    • @monicaross4013
      @monicaross4013 Před rokem

      No, it's more like you can't try to meditate because you don't want to not meditate. That is conflict within the self, however going through the thoughts and all of the thoughts and states which are observed, supressed rationalized but really embracing and/or accepting that conflict because that is also you, allows for true meditation it's the in between and both simultaneously. so t won't impact you as you are no longer needing to fight or resist it. Conflict or no conflict are almost one together and they cancel eachother out if you embrace the conflict to accept the non conflicted without fear of the conflict
