  • Hi, this, I know is one of many videos about this, and I did one some time ago, but I do know that this is useful to most to understand how these five basic chord SHAPES can be found and used up and down the fretboard.
    I've use my 2007 Eastman AR805 Archtop because I don't have many14 fretters.
    Lessons ? ONE-to-ONE hour long lessons via Zoom? Yup,

    Thanks Andy - I’ve avoided this topic because it seemed so complicated. But you’ve got me thinking now and I think I’ve got it! Great lesson. Thanks for putting this together. Very helpful. Hope you both are fully recovered. Be well.

      Hi, I also had trouble seeing the patterns of "CAGED" but once it "clicks, it can be very useful. thanks for watching.

      Hi Ke, we've had our first day of high temps here on the south coast of England. Wifey decided it was too hot to go to her beach hut !!!!

    I learned the caged system some years ago but never really used it. This simplifies things for me although I am more inclined to use the capo when singing to match my voice pitch.

      Hi Frank, I agree - I call myself a singer who plays guitar!

    Thanks for trying, I guess I'm just not ready for this yet. Love the Guitar.

      Hi, I understand. It took ages for the penny (or five pence - five chord shapes), to drop for me. We need to separate the difference between the moveable 1st position "shapes" and the chords they can make, up the fretboard.
      However, I'm grateful to you for telling me that maybe I should try (even) harder to share this concept. Best, Ol' Andy

    Is the idea that you would replace the capo by barring in the upper positions?

    • @SillyMoustache
      @SillyMoustache  Před měsícem +2

      Yes, but I'm not great at barre chords, so I used the capo to make a point.

      If you have a better method of explaining this, I'd love to hear/see it. I#ve tried to make it as simple as possible.

      And you did a good job Andy.
      My hmm comment was because I'd never come across this but have since tried it. Thank you 🙂

      Well it wasn't about entertainment. I was attempting to explain the options -but if you "want" to understand it - then it is good value for what you paid for it.
