Our 10th official crash bars drop and drag test features a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. 6x drops in total: three on each side in dirt, gravel and on concrete!
How come you took the foot pegs off for the test? I see the brake pedal took a beating
I had to cover my SAS eyes while watching this ;-)
wow this is the perfect crash test on such a costly bike, superb guys, it is a very tough bike accepted...great job.
Thank you
No you cannot borrow my bike
Hard to watch 😬😬😅. Great job tho. I see the mirrors are removed. Soft ground is where damage was done to mine, mirrors included. the bars sink in to the dirt leaving parts exposed to rocks ect.
Well if you are ever in the market for mirrors I run Doubletake mirrors on a ton of my bikes. While they arent total abominations some may not like the look but they are for sure tough, but also flex out of the way. If you can find a way to break them, you can buy just the glass for like $7-8
Pretty hard test. I will be considering this crash bars for mine. If you please, can you tell if the screen of the bike was damaged by the barkbusters in full lock during the test?
Sold on this product. I'm buying a full set next week
I would like to see the damage done to the bike... the camera moves around so much on all of these videos
There’s no damage thanks to the crash bars.
is that speed enough for a test?
@@seazv if we did it twice as fast you would still not be satisfied, would you?
I am not sure I could swing the cost of a new 1290 SA, but if I did, OM bars would be on the bike within days of delivery. :)
Thanks for the compliments!
Only any use if they are in stock and they aren’t for weeks now!
High demand, limited production output. We’re doing our best though.
I really think your stuff is great. The old 1290 combo was amazing. But the Canadian link of dual sport plus is $1200. That’s too much.
Would you please send a link to this price reference?
hi, are your outback crashbars compatible with powerparts low crash bars? and with the powerparts spotlights? Thank you.
Not the OEM KTM lower crash bars. We can’t confirm the compatibility with the OEM auxiliary lights
There isn’t much that’d stop your bike getting serious damage in a spill at 45 mph. These and all crash bars are only really for a stationary or very slow accident to minimise damage. The video shows ‘worst case scenario’. Imo even a small spill could cost thousands in bodywork alone. I dread to think how much the tank would be to replace.
@@davidgidman7561 same goes for motorcycle armour. They help with small impact, but won’t do much in high speed crashes
my heart !!
Nice!
But think of the poor person you sold this fresh looking bike after the test. :D
The bike is essentially intact thanks to the crash bars
Crazy people...
CRAIGSLIST: Very gently used never dropped...
Mortotek!?!? MORTOtek!?! 😅
Are you planning to re stock anytime soon?
We’re producing 1290 SAR parts non stop. What’s your country of residence?
@@Outbackmotortek I'm in the UK and I have a 1290 SAS if there's any difference
@@Enerdrew2411 thank you. Please contact our customer service and they’ll verify if there’s a shipment on its way to our UK dealer or is one being prepped. If not, we might be able to look after the sales directly.
It says sold out in the US webpage. All the items you sell for a 2022 KTM SAR are in fact sold out. Can you please comment on when they would be available?
The first shipment will arrive in the USA in about two weeks. The second one about 1.5-2 weeks after.
@@Outbackmotortek thank you for the reply. Is there an option to preorder items?
@@hanumanthraokannan2575 the only option we offer these days (due to potential delays) is taking email addresses and/or phone numbers and we notify folks when the products are physically back in stock. You can call our USA east (ext. 2) and west (ext. 3) dealers and let them know that you’d like to be on the waiting list: 877 931 3636
this test is pure rubbish....who drives at 5 miles per hour and falls suffering serious damage to the motorcycle....is out of all reality....why not try a fall at 45 miles on uneven terrain ...which is where one can actually fall....
Think a company that can do this type of stuff on their product. Appreciate their effort dude
The best test is to drop the bike from 100 meters
Not sure if you're being sarcastic? If one goes down at 45 mph crash bars won't help you. Crash bars will either bend and damage plastics (which would be destroyed regardless of crash bars) or the frame, forks, bars, exhaust, etc. will be damaged whether bars or not. Most off road crashes are less than 10 mph and many times on sand and/or mud. Many times going down just on a tip over. But if one goes down over about 25 mph....crash bars will at best minimize damage. If crash bars are too beefy...they weigh too much and the impact will be transferred to the crash bar attachment point and damage whatever they are attached to....But going down at 45 mph...the bike will be the least of my worries!
