I feel like the developers were trying to go more for the spectacle of CoT rather than focus to much on the story beats. You have to admit, the remake is absolutely breathtaking to the eye.

However it would be best if it was only a cameo or easter egg and left for a seperate game. With a seperate game the characters background could be expanded even more.

On my first playthrough I forgot to collect all the tuba gems, after going for 100% on my second, this was more than a worthy endgame reward, what a character! (Edit: before this, I only played the enhanced version which he was cut from for some reason 🤔)

If I recall, it was the Tuba High Mage. I think you fight the Tuba knight before the Tuba King and after the Tuba Archmage. And yeah, tuba knight had such a good arc.
While the remake did make severe improvements to the gameplay and some much needed QoL changes (like not needing to re-tune after every single fight, intead only at camp) a lot of what made the original stand out above other games was its characters and worldbuilding I think the changes to tuba knight reflect this problem the most, his new design is simply marvellous and the boss fight itself its easily the best in the series (on both routes) turning TK into a mindless minion who doesnt even flinch when killing civilians absolutely BUTCHERS his character and loses all duality the character used to have

since this is becoming a game, i think the tuba knight should be a good guy that helps you along your journey, but later in the game gets corrupted by you wanting to destroy the tuba king , but the knight swore to protect the king whatever his choice was good or evil because many years ago the king saved him from death when he was a slave worth nothing and was like a father to him*, or another way is that the high tuba dark mage and your both put against each other to decide who gets to live.

Being the first boss in the game he was a very easy fight but his backstory is amazing the devs did very good job
