I found some year old ai art of "dark 80's 'blank'" just today. If final fantasy 6 was redone, not real time like 7 was, but fully rendered characters, enemies, that'd be cool. I'm imagining big parts like the opera scene, the floating continent or magiteck research dungeon, tune and all, done with the crazy rendering today. 💕
Edit: Inside the Zone Eater finding GoGo, man, could be an amazing remake with the right artistic team behind it.
A lot of remakes certainly leave you scratching your head..I have seen a lot of takes from Devs that remakes are safe and easy $$ and have saved a few game companies from going bust as well.

I do think some remakes are remade way too soon. I absolutely positively want a remake of Fable 2. New graphics for Fable 2 would be so fun to play through.

Well Resident Evil 1 Remake is my favorite RE game, also I really want Final Fantasy 8 Remake, An open world Kanto game would be nice but we need co-op like playing the game with your friends taking down GYMs and shit oh boy
Dino Crisis & Asura's Wrath would be fun to update and remake. I would also love to see Incredible Hulk be done right.
Overall, I would prefer remakes of games that were either too ambitious for the technology of the time or were majorly flawed. Sonic games of the 2000s all seem half-baked and would majorly benefit from remakes.

My most wanted remake is Xenogears. Fix Disc 2, keep the pixel art sprites on the 3D backgrounds. Don’t want a AAA remake, not sure I’d even want Square Enix to be involved. Haven’t been impressed with their storytelling for at least a decade.
I get remakes when its something like shadow of the Colossus like the graphics was way different from the original.
But newer games like last of us or this one, it's a money grab imo
