      Once you've done one...... it's a doddle!
      Use a drill/driver for all your screws with torque set at no.8 and it'll save you ages in making them up.
      Just finished two 100x236cm Pax wardrobes, three Malm drawer sets and a Songesand king sized bed and wife is delighted.
      Now to start bedroom number two..........

      @@GraceInMySpaceSarah, I have a question about the door on left closest to wall. You don’t seem to have much space and with my setup neither do I does the door open enough to open drawers? I’m debating putting the door on the other side to ensure it can open enough!

    Thank you thank you! Normally I find IKEA instructions straightforward, but they did me dirty on this one by not including the instructions. The instructions online were hard to see the hole placement. I really appreciated you walking me through it!

    Without your video we would have struggled. We’ve just finished our wardrobe, it’s similar to yours but ours has 2 singles and a double. The room is small with high ceilings so we had to build in another room. We paid the extra for the taller ones and moved the singles into the bedroom, we had to build the double standing up. As you said a little more difficult but possible. Carpet sliders really help. Thank you so much for your excellent instructions.

    Just built the first of my double Pax wardrobes alone and its simple enough.
    Only tricky bit was putting the second side on as the 236 length bends visibly as you put it together lifting it off the connectors. Got my wife to hold it in the middle while i tightened up the connections.
    Might try putting the next one on its side to connect up the second side.
    Second Pax wardrobe is on hold as for some reason it was missing the top panel. Seven to ten days to send out the extra piece!
    Plenty of time to make up the Malm drawers and bed.
    P.S. I used my Ryobi drill/driver with torque setting at 8 to drive ALL of the screws on my Pax , Malm drawers and Songesand kingsize bed. No breakthrough on any of them.
    You can check by starting off at let's say torque 4 then tighten by hand. Gradually increase your torque until around 8 where it will most likely still ratchet around. After 8 it will tighten further.
    P.P.S. Top panel on Pax is identical to base panel with holes for floor levellers. Top panel has plastic cover plug but you can use that hole to run wiring for lighting without drilling as mentioned on instructions.

      IKEA Pax wardrobes are not for moving around like your average wardrobe as the need wall fixing for stability. If you must move them, it's slide/push/pull very gently keeping pressure low down using your feet and knees and hips.
      Do not pull or push high up as the frame will want to shift diagonally!

    Hi Sarah, i wonder if you fix the back of the wardrobes to the wall? Just so they wont fall tipping down to the front when the inside filling got heavy /unbalanced?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  Před 18 dny

      Yes! They are anchored to each other and also to the back wall. That wasn’t included in the video as we fully installed them at a later date.

    • @fabianmckenna8197
      @fabianmckenna8197 Před 15 dny

      @@GraceInMySpaceAbsolutely........
      When you open both doors on a 236cm Pax wardrobe, the whole thing wants to move forward, potentially crushing you, hence the warnings on the first page about securing it to the wall.... Solidly!
      If you have drywall then screw into the studs.
      If they don't line up, then screw a wooden stud across the existing studs and screw into that.
      Brick wall, drill plug and securely screw into that.
      Also drill plug and screw a wooden stud across the wall allowing you to securely fix into that.

    • @GraceInMySpace

      It is leveled with shims and then screwed into the studs ☺️

  • @secondchild5801
    @secondchild5801 Před 4 měsíci

    I have a question. Did you put something in the gap between the back of the wardrobe and the wall before securing it? You've got skirting and a dado rail (I think that's what it's called), so there's definitely a gap.

  • @veronicairwin2911
    @veronicairwin2911 Před 7 dny

    Has anybody tried this just avoiding the back panel? I'm trying to put my wardrobe in front of some electrical panels...wondering if I can just keep the back open since I'm screwing it to the wall anyways, so I can access the electrical panel through the wardrobe

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  Před 6 dny

      The back panel definitely provides stability to the whole unit. You can try but I’d definitely secure it to the wall in many places.

    @7:26, why are you turning the screw driver counter clockwise. That isn't right. I dont think. is this in a mirror?

    • @GraceInMySpace
      @GraceInMySpace  Před 3 měsíci

      It could have been how the camera was set up. Just turn in the position to secure it ☺️

      Just a screwdriver and hammer for most of it! They usually come with some small tools as well.
