    The Green Biscuit was first introduced a few years ago and it has become very popular among hockey players. It is personally my favourite off ice puck, however the only problem was that you could not shoot it.
    This problem is now fixed with the Green Biscuit Snipe. The Snipe is made of a more durable plastic that will not break if you hit something hard. The only problem with the Snipe is that it does not glide quite as well as the regular Green Biscuit.
    In this video I do a full review of the Green Biscuit Snipe. We test it for shooting and stickhandling and compare it to a regular green biscuit

    Smoother cement - Snipe
    Rough surface, lots of bumps - Regular Green Biscuit (just don't shoot it) or Ball if you want to shoot

    The Snipe currently sells for $14.95, if you want one I have a link in the video description. You can also learn more about the other stuff I use and recommend.
    More importantly, if you have questions just ask and I will respond

    I have all three Green biscuits (original, snipe, and the pro) and the only one worth owning is the original. It's fantastic, as every review pretty much says, but the snipe doesn't move well enough and the pro grips to the stick too much causing it to flip when doing quick hands.

    • @xexotics_fur1461
      @xexotics_fur1461 Před 3 lety

      The snipe doesn’t move well because it’s gotta have tougher plastic and less smooth plastic

    • @ffryan
      @ffryan Před 2 lety

      All 3 versions are designed for completely different purposes. The original is exclusively stickhandling. Snipe is for stickhandling and shooting. Pro is for stickhanding and saucer passes. All 3 have their place in off-ice training. All 3 do things better than the other 2 and all 3 do things not as well as the other 2. I find I get the most use of the snipe because of its ability to be shot. Any work that I do that is strictly stickhandling I usually reserve for when I am on dryland tiles and have a dangle puck.

    If it's a bit bumpy it will roll up on you sometimes. The original Green Biscuit slides the best, but if you want to rollerblade, stickhandle, and shoot the snipe is the best option out there. The rougher the surface though the more likely it will flip up on you.
    It's most likely to flip up with quick movements as well.

    This review is great! From a goalie perspective, the snipe is a great off ice tool. It allows my normal practice mate take shots without fear of breaking a normal biscuit or not being able to do much stickhandeling with a normal puck. We have been using 2 for almost 3-4 months on a tennis court with very good results. They have worn down due to the texture, but they have retained much of their shape and have yet to break on the link fence behind our net.

  • @howtohockeytraining
    @howtohockeytraining  Před 11 lety +5

    The snipe will work just fine for passing and shooting. It's when you want to do quick stickhandling moves on rough surfaces where the snipe will flip over on you. You should be fine

    Good review and nice shots!
    I shoot off-ice on softer targets (cardboard, foam board etc.), would a regular green biscuit be OK to shoot at these targets (since the reason you can’t shoot with it is that it breaks if it hits hard surfaces) or would the green biscuit snipe be better and do less damage to the targets?

  • @howtohockeytraining
    @howtohockeytraining  Před 11 lety +1

    Good to know Addison, what do you normally do with it?

  • @birchfie
    @birchfie Před 11 lety

    I use the the Pro Puck "Ice Guy" on Mylec tiles. Not as quick as ice obviously, but overall it's the best combo of stick handling AND shooting I've found. I haven't tried the hockey shot tiles yet though, they look a little slicker.

  • @howtohockeytraining
    @howtohockeytraining  Před 11 lety

    But then how would that explain the regular green biscuit working great on rough surfaces? And me being able to use the Snipe just fine on smoother surfaces?

    what i've noticed, is if it's a hot day out, the material that holds the bolts in that keeps the two pieces together starts to soften up and wear, and eventually the puck will start to come apart if you hit the post too hard.

    I have a question if you could answer this please. I got new 200$ mission rollerblades. They are a size 10 and a half, but they kill my feet! I was told that the reason they hurt is because i have to break them in. Is this true? I have a regular shoe size of 13. My foot cant skate for more than 10 minuets on these skates, because they hurt so bad. Please help!

  • @lawsonthespeedyboy9534

    I know this is an old video but I thought that it was worth saying that I’ve owned many of the original green biscuits and only one has broken on me. They actually hold up fine against my hollow street hockey net but if you shoot it at something such as a brick wall then it may break but even when I miss the net a bunch of times and hit my garage it never breaks. I’ve also owned the snipe biscuit I do like it, but the original just slides soooo much better and beats the snipe biscuit in almost everything except for the snipe biscuit feels more like a real puck

    • @LAPesos
      @LAPesos Před 7 lety +1

      Yes and no, as the original biscuit is inclined to chip, as it hits hard surfaces, but if you don't have a very hard shot, it can hold up for some time, but the snipe will hold up longer, I have both! I noticed the original slides better, but not much of a critical difference if using on smooth surfaces anyway? But the snipe is much hardier built and will take more punishment in the long run...FYI
