In this method, the machine is already threaded and all we need to do is tie the ends of the threaded threads to the new reels, let me show you how

Abi can you do a video on how to change the stitch patterns on this overlocker?
I donât know why I havenât addressed it yet! Thank you so much for the reminder Toro!
@@AbisDen ..No prob, Abi!...I just got one of these and it's the first time EVER in my life that I have used an overlocker, so a video like that would be amazing for a newbie like me.
On it!What is it youâd like to make? Maybe I can include something to guide you
@@AbisDen ...Well, I am signing up for an in-person sewing class later this month so I can expand on my sewing knowledge. The long term goal is for me to make clothes and household things with ease.
I would consider myself as a "beginner" sewer as I can only make the most basic of things ie face masks, shopping bag etc, so I don't mind what you decide to make in the video. I would def appreciate if you could show how to use all the 12 stitch patterns this overlocker has though, as I have looked in the manual and I am completely stumped with regards to how to change the stitch pattern when looking at the diagram..lol
This machine is now sold by a different name, but every thin is the same. So glad I found this video.
Lots of brand names use the same machine under their name. Itâs just a bog standard machine that many brands will label as their own.
Such a clear and concise video of how to thread the overlocker from scratch - about 3 minutes in from the start. I was determined to master my machine, and I did it successfully the first time thanks to this brilliant video.
I was just thinking how similar this looked to the Lidl Singer machine.
I've really enjoyed using that one and found these videos from Abi so useful.
Youâve just saved my sanity in trying to re thread my overlocker! Thank you! Only had to do it once before and it took me weeks then. This time a little quicker!
Glad I could help!
I was ready to give up but this was so clear and easy to follow thank you!!!
Overlocker Queen! thanks Abi...even though my machine is an ages old Juki, I'll be following this series for sure, I always find something useful.
Brilliant well done Abi. I was ready for throwing my overlocker out the window many many thanks
đ glad you didnât đ”âđ«đ·
Thanks again for this Abi. Just did a revisit to remind me exactly how to thread my Necchi Aldi Overlocker! Perfection!
Thanks Abi, can't wait for the series - I hope lots of sewers will be inspired to get an overlocker.
Thank you! This was so helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this. I watched it before buying this machine and you gave me the confidence to go ahead. I had to rethread it from scratch and this video enabled me to do so. I do not do well with diagrams and would not have managed to thread it.
Abi, thank you so much for this video, Iâve been struggling with threading the lower looper trying to follow the manual instructions with no luck now, delighted to say Iâve done it by following along with your excellent guide, also adjusted the stitch width (again with your help) to overlock a single layer of lightweight fabric without having the loops hanging off the edge đ thank you again . x
Thank you so much for sharing this, it is going to be so helpful x
Thanks for this. Really helpful!
Wow, I didn't realize that this brand was owned by Necchi! My mom adored her old Necchi, but our house got robbed, and they even took that. I still have the old button holder for it, which uses patterned gears, always found it cool đ
I almost gave up - thank you!
Hi Abi, sincere thanks for your clear instructions. Got an overlocker for the first time, clueless but your video was great, thanks againđ
Thats very help ful Abi. Thank you so much for this. I did this in a jiffy. Although Iam a seamstress, I haven't used an overlocker till now. Got the same one from Aldi .
Very helpful, thanks x
Thank you, your video has me a lot.
Wow! that was easy! thank you Abi for making it a stress-free process!
You're so welcome!
Thank goodness you have this video otherwise Iâd never use my overlocker, canât fathom the booklet at all đ đ
Thank you Marion x I hope you have fun with it. Itâs a fabulous little machine x
Thank you so much for this tutorial!!
Thank you for watching
Excellent video, thank you!
Thankyou fluffy!
I can't thank you enough for this wonderful video. I thought I would just be able to take my overlocker out the box and be away đ It turned out a lot more complicated than that. But thanks to your wonderful video I am finally up and runningđ„ł
Amazing!
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I successfully threaded my serger after watching this very well-informed tutorial only after the first viewing!!! Success đŻđđ
That is amazing ! Good on you! đđœ
OMG thank you!
Hi Abi thank you so very much for this video. I purchased the Necchi a couple of weeks ago. And two of the difficult threads werenât threaded through. So this video has been a massive help. Thank you. Alex uk
Youâre welcome Alex. Iâll be making more tutorials on this machine. So watch out for those ! Have fun âșïž
Thatâs interesting. I didnât expect to be able to tie off on needle threads
thank you been trying to thread my aldi overlocker for hrs
I hope youâve been successful now âš
@@AbisDen yes thank you I changed the threads as well working much better now
Thanks for your video, been a great help. I have now subscribed to your channel. Many thanks
Hi Julie, how are you getting on with it a year later? x
Would love if you turn on subtitles so I can watch without sound when needed!
Tap on the video and you should see an icon of a box with cc inside it. Tap on that to subtitles. Tap on the same icon to turn them off.
Thanks
Thank you so much xx
Hi Abi, thank you for demonstrating the overlockers which are available at the supermarket. Out of all the over lockers you currently own, which one performs the best Necchi, Singer or Brother? đđŒ
Thank you that's a great help, I'm just having problems with the first thread, when I'm sewing that one keeps coming out, could you please help me thank you.
Thank you for this video, I am just learning to sew and have just purchased this so it will be a big help, have you done anymore videos using this overlocker please đ
We do. Look for the singer s14-78, thatâs the same machine and Iâve a few projects on both. Have fun!

Thank you so much đ
Hi Abi, I tried to make the bag for my machines bits and bobs and found that the foot was too wide for the zipper. Can you get a zipper foot for these machines. I looked for the singer too as you said they were basicaly the same. The tutorials are great very informative. Thanks
Hi Abi I got this overlocker a few months back and it has been great. I also have also have a Brother 1034D which is an absolute nightmare to rethread, I have spent 2-3 hours trying and trying coming nearly to tears, I find the green thread so hard to do. So I only use it for anything light that I can use white thread on. The Necchi I use for the darker items. Anyway something went wrong with the necchi and I had to rethread it. I followed your instructions and it was so easy. I was really not looking forward to the day I had to do this, but now I won't be scared to do it again. I can't say that about the brother lol. While I am here how do you make the overlock stitch smaller as I use it only on the factory settings as I find it so hard to try and work it out.
Mine keeps seizing up and u wasn't using it at all đą still got a few months of warranty on it. Thinking of returning it. Unless it's because I'm not using it. I really don't know what to do. For any warranty repairs it has to be sent off to Germany. Did it once already a year ago. And they don't even say what they did to the machine đ but it's such lovely machine
You not using it is not a reason for the machine to fail. Itâs just lesser quality machine Iâm afraid, like the brother machines
Has any one advice on threading a Necchi pro series 4030 overlocker? Which tutorial is the closest to this model?
What is your favorite or best serger
Hi Abi. I'm so glad I've found your workshops. I've just bought a Necchi from Aldi. I have a couple of questions:
Which thread do you use and do you always have different colours loaded?
Keep up the good work.
Dianne
Ooh. I reordered another one and it arrived yesterday. I use moon threads. Saville Row approved and use needles to match your fabric needs, then just follow my tutorials and have a blast!
Good afternoon! The knifes of my ultralock singer S14-78 machine don't work (they don't move). Can you explain me what the problem is?
have you switched them on? they might need oiling? x
Hi, Thanks Abi, great video! The problem I'm having at the moment is that the blades aren't cutting the waste fabric off. Can you possibly give me any advice on what to do?
They slip down a little. Grab a cross head screwdriver and shift them up a little. It should be okay. It happened to mine
@@AbisDen Brilliant, thanks, all working now.
Great video. Just bought one of these necchi machines and itâs so much better than my older one. Quick question though. How on earth do you get oil into the little bottle they provide?? đ€·đ»ââïžIâve got singer super oil and wasted a quarter of it trying to get it into the little necchi bottle đ
Two methods of doing this First one is to put a little oil into an egg cup then squeeze the little oil bottle to suck up the oil-like using a turkey baster. The second method is to use a syringe but unless it has a needle (I use blunt end ones as I refill ink cartridges) and syringe it into the bottle. I think the first method is easiest for you.
Is the necchi overlocker worth buying?
Thanks Abi your video help me to get started đ€
I know it's pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released series online ?
@Aldo Melvin i would suggest flixzone. Just google for it :)
Hello Abi, can I ask you which is the best Interfacing to buy, I've brought some, however, its terrible, its not very adhesive. Thank you.
If youâre after a branded product. Try Vilene. But I usually just buy something off a market stall for ÂŁ1/m. Iron on hot (3 dots) and keep pressing for 8-10 seconds for the glue to melt. They should work. If the glue goes yellow , itâs too hot or a substandard quality- or if it bubbles or shrinks.
Thank you so much. So clear. I've been dreading trying. Had the overlocker 4 months and just got round to it! A couple of questions please. I was following the book at the same time and notice you left out one of the yellow looper things, the one in the middle. Does that matter? It does have a yellow arrow by it.
Also I notice you pull the yellow thread between the knife and foot and pull to the back, but in the book they pull it over the upper looper first and then behind the fingers, and this ends up with the yellow thread going over the upper looper to the back of the stitch plate and not through the knife/ plate and then to the back. Does this make a difference? Thank you.
Happy New Year
Thank you for your feedback. Make sure you donât miss the guides like I did. It will make a difference but didnât in this case. threading otherwise is how I usually do it. It works perfectly fine for me. Try it both ways and see which way works for you đ happy new year đ„ł
Thank you. I tried making a chain but it went all funny, but perhaps I need the presser foot down? It didn't say that in the book, although of course I would have it down if I had fabric under it.
Salaam alaikum wa rahmantu Allah was thinking about a sewing machine in this brand
Wasalam sister. This has been good so far. Iâm loving using it
Have you done a tips for threading Janome Overlocker?
I have for three types of you search Abiâs Den Janome đ
Abi's Den Thankyou. I will look. When I first got my Janome I thought it was the devil, the instructions are really poor but I like the machine.
Abi's Den also, Iâm an idiot! Iâve seen it before and remarked how good it was!
Ahh. Donât we all have days like this? :-)
đđ€Č
Do you run private lessons at all Abi?
You can reach me via my website in the description x
hiiii
I just don't understand why, in this world of amazing high tech, putting men on the moon etc., engineers/manufacturers can't come up with an easier way to thread these ****** machines !!
There has been for a long while đ„łđ„Ž look for an Airthreader
