When I moved into an apartment this year, I was all like "I DON'T NEED A ROOMMATE BECAUSE I'M AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN!" But I remember what God said about "it's not good for man (and woman) to be alone." I am so grateful I have a sister in Christ for a roommate because it gives me accountability, safety, a genuine friend, and community.
Amen! All Christian singles should have Roommates.
The challenge is finding a healthy community made up of whole people.
Difficult find because we’re all broken people.
Not on this side of heaven.
If we only look at lack of absolute healthiness and wholeness as our measuring stick for seeking relationship, we will never establish or maintain any human relationship. So it becomes a focusing issue.
Perhaps seeking community and relationships with people seeking health and wholeness is a much more feasible and healthy way to look at it

I never knew "wholeness" as a thing to pursue until God started me on the journey ,not like I have attained the mark but I am pressing on.I wish I could put all my thoughts into writing to further explain myself but I agree with you a 100% on the need to shift one's focus.

I love this so much! I also live alone, and battle those feelings at times. I built into my budget a few nights a week where I now go out to eat and even if I sit and eat by myself, I am around other people which I really need. This is such great advice, thank you Mandisa!
Good point. I live alone too, and I have faced those crazy feelings, but thank God I have a friend, who usually senses that and invites me to spend time with her family. I also go out and eat or drink in a public place, so as to see people, or even take a walk outside. God bless the Better together Family.
This video is not specifically labeled “You need friends”, however the essential message is friends are valuable and vital! I want to preface what I’m going to say with, “Thank You well meaning saints and speakers.” I know the purpose of videos like this, is to drive home the point the importance of partnership. Like so many hallmark scriptures.... “...don’t forsake the assembling with one another.” “...two is better than one.” “...for man is not meant to be alone.” With all of the solid wisdom in scripture available, as well as the personal experience and common sense of man - I’d like to give the average person credit enough to know that they need a support system. Believers and nonbelievers know this! We really do. However, messengers ought to be careful b/c we also live in an impressionable, desperate, and depressed ridden community and before you know it ppl will begin thinking they need to pan-handle friends on their local corner. That is absolutely not the idea. Rather we should replace “get you some friends” or “get you one” with “enter fervent prayer for covenant partnerships”. We have to be specific and do so through the lens of our heavenly fathers vision for earthly relationships. It crushes me to hear sermons and videos that preach “Get you some FRIENDS” when the process should be organic and the BIGGER issue is that the word friend equates a fleeting relationship these days when we think in terms of the social media culture. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc make it easy to “GET” a “friend” but don’t expect an actual support system b/c when it comes to social media friends, those friends are held to a LESSOR STANDARD (are they not)? Clicking like and typing scripted “click bait” comments under post is ABSOLUTELY NOT a support system. I don’t believe that’s the message saints want to send troubled ppl. However, you are sending the message “get you a fleeting connection” b/c by default the bar is low for friends and ppl don’t reach for being the partner (aka friend) or support that stops by with food when another friend can’t fit in a home cooked meal for their family b/c they’ve been working longer hours and taking care of an ill parent. Ppl don’t concern themselves with physically celebrating with another “friend”, possibly babysitting, traveling on vacation together, and all the personal touches that come with having a vessel or covenant partnership with another person. So rather than get behind the mic or bullhorn and drive the same “Well Known” point that’s friends are impactful. We should lead by example saints, and usher our troubled culture in doing the following 1) Pray for Covenant Partnerships 2) Work on Skills Building to become a Covenant Partner to whomever God Wills for you to partner with 3)Learn how to identify characteristics of a covenant relationship (in essence pray that God strengthen your discernment so you know when God places your so called “friend” on your path)! I’m not certain what pastors, preachers, or you tubers want listeners to takeaway from the message “Get You Some Friends”, but when I hear those messages I always think “what do you expect me to do, jump up and pan-handle friends if I don’t have any currently?” When you prepare a public address about the importance of a support system, at the end of the message the listener should be driven to establish an action plan that charges them to self improvement. Telling someone “get you some friends” is honestly going to make a depressed person feel more insecure, but giving them a solution, homework, things they can actually build on, will breed their confidence and essentially help them to reciprocate what they’re waiting and praying for. Someone praying all day long, without establishing the onus of responsibility to prepare for what they are waiting/praying, will land them in a situation where they get a “friend” but can’t even hold onto the support b/c they didn’t maximize their “WAITING” period b/c all they can remember is “GET, GET, GET you some friends”. And how does the saying go, “Getting there is easy, but staying there is the real challenge! Let’s drive the point that a support system is vital, but proper stewardship of a support system is EACH person’s responsibility! So here are steps 1, 2, 3, etc on how you become, characterize, identify, and reciprocate a support system. The idea is to positively influence, and instruct the listener on entering the realm of a support system, and not leave them insecure without expansion of NEW knowledge. Just about everybody will tell you they want more friends, which leads me to believe they know the importance of not journeying through life ALONE. I truly thank my community of believers for their efforts, I just want to prevent culture from “Doing The Most” as it relates to the department of friendship (what I call covenant partnerships/relationships)! ❤️🙏🏾
This is SO well said!! You've brought up many, many valid and excellent points. I love how you referred to it as pan-handling for friends too. That kind of "friendship" is an easy come, easy go type of relating and really waters down what true friendship is - which in the long run, undermines the definition of relationships. This subject is something that has been on my mind so much lately and your post feels like an answer to prayer. Thank you for this!!

Dear brothers and sisters i greet you in our Lord Jesus Christ
Five years ago, I began to engage in faith. I started here in Croatia in the catholic church to visit mass and to read The Holy Scriptures. Very early on, I noticed that what is taught and practiced in the catholic church contradicts the Holy Scriptures and what Jesus taught us. In addition, some things in the Holy Bible were unclear to me and raised additional questions and doubts, such as:
- If our God is the God of love and justice, why are we punished for the sins of Adam? Doesn't that contradict the principles of love and justice? An earthly father who is full of faults and weaknesses would not do such a thing, then how can we think such a thing about our Perfect Father?
- How can a loving father throw his child forever in the hell? That also contradicts these principles. And besides, in 1 Timothy 2; 3 + 4: "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
So, if this were really so, that in spite of His will, people will be brought forever to hell and not saved, this would mean that He can not enforce His will and thus He is not the omnipotent God, if we follow these doctrines believe.
- Why does it say in some passages that Jesus is the Son of God, in others the Son of Man and in others that He and God are one?
Although I kept going to the Catholic Mass, at home I no longer practiced the prayers of the catholic church, but started talking like a child to my Father (Matthew 6: 7 + 8 ). After a short while, I got the answer to everything. He guided me through a friend of my mother to the revelations of Bertha Dudde. Now I know that the Bible does not contradict itself. God can not contradict himself. The truth is not in the word, in the letter, but in the understanding, in the interpretation of it. Now I know that Jesus is God and our Father in heaven, and I understand all the processes and contexts, and through this I have come to know that He is the perfect Love and not the strict, punitive God. As he promised us in John 14; 21: "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. "
16; 12 + 13: "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. "
16; 25: "These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. "
In the revelations of Bertha Dudde, His promise was fulfilled, just as every other of His promises was and will be fulfilled, for He never quits (Titus 1: 2) because His word is truth (John 17; 17) and all that will happen is what He said has (Hebrews 10; 23, Ezekiel 12; 25:28, etc.)
My loved brothers and sisters, I ask you not to blindly believe me, but as written in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verses 19-21: " Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. "
Before you begin to look, go into prayer and ask our Father Jesus Christ for enlightenment to put you in your heart, whether that's really His word or not. Do not read with your mind or knowledge, but with your heart, for knowledge (knowledge, understanding) puffeth up, love (heart) edifieth (1 Corinthians 8: 1), for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life (2 Corinthians 3: 6).

I'm friends with married men, but not in the way I was when they were single. There have to be boundaries, but I still think I can be friends with them. God is giving me wisdom on that.

Hate to be a downer- but I’ve watched several of her interviews and her identity seems to be focused on her singleness and a fixation with wanting to be married. There’s something deeper here. Although her words are saying one thing but the message I get is that she didn’t feel whole without a man.
