I'm encouraged to understand, albeit with my less than perfect German as a basis to grasp a small amount of what is said in Dutch, in spite of the internet and real estate prices conspiring against him, your friend uses the Internet to make contact with like minded people. Physical real estate prices drive lots of changes to our lives in recent times. Often very uncomfortable and inconvenient. Because there are so many filmmakers in the world who need and find value in the technologies your friend has so carefully protected and made available until now to those fortunate enough to find him in Amsterdam, there is perhaps a "silver lining" to this story. I hope that in the current reality he will find peace and encouragement that only could be found in the "global village". Thank you for sharing this story. Spijtig om te zien, het is helaas de tendens op veel plekken! Men is gaan begrijpen dat je alleen nog goed kan verdienen in stenen, dat zie je terug in hoeveel mensen zijn gaan investeren in panden en er royale bedragen voor vragen. Ook wij zijn in Maastricht nog één van de weinige onafhankelijke (fotografie)zaken in een winkelstraat vol 13-in-een-dozijn ketens.

Sorry to heer that your father is dead. I have seen the film, I am cousin to Johan. My father and Johans father were brothers. My mother was swedish. My father was born 1916 and my mother 1917- They both died in 2004. I am living in Malmö, Sweden -greetings from Solveig Kalee

Unrelated topic. I saw your website. I just want to put it my opinion about religion. Don't be mad please:
Religion is neither good or bad. It is a tool like a hammer. But the person who use the tool can be good or bad.
So the real question is: Did the pastor who ostracized you used the tool (religion) comes from LOVE or hate?
If he came from hate, hate is what you receive.
If he came from love, love is what you receive.
In your case, it seems the pastor came from hate. Perhaps he was hurt. He looked at you, he thought you got the fun part, and he got less and less followers. So I am really sorry about what he did 😪😪😪. He was a cruel pastor. He shouldn't do that. IMO if he's unable to love, he shouldn't be a pastor at all. A pastor should be kind and loving. If a pastor cannot demonstrate any kind & loving, then he should quit being a pastor and find another profession.
But there are many loving Catholics pastors & nuns out there. In my experience of religion, it has been the positive one.
I became Catholic because of the Dutch. Before WW2 in Indonesia, my grandmother was a very poor widow with 3 children. She was confused, & didn't know what to do.
But Dutch Catholic Church took them, fed them, schooled them all for free. Taught them Dutch language. Even my mother went to "teaching school", something that too high education at that time.
How can I see that Catholics are bad? In my eyes, Catholics are good. That's why I am a Catholic, because I want to be good like those WW2 Dutch nuns & pastors.
