The step by step tutorial on how to make pens for beginners can be found here... stoneandsons.net/how-to-make-a-pen/
I have always enjoyed making things since I was a young boy. Nowadays my favorite is working with wood, mostly turning on my lathe. I also get enjoyment when I teach others the joy of woodturning, especially the look on their faces after they have made their first project, be it a bowl, platter, pepper grinder or a simple spinning top.
As a maker with two decades of love and blood poured daily... this video is one of the best and with the few views and comments, it's a message not given enough. Without going too deep I have my BA in computer programming/analysis earned at 19 yrs old. My mbb and series 7 at 20 yrs old. All while, at 33 yrs old, I have 17 yrs hands on experience as a woodworker. Like any realist, money is awesome and happiness can't be bought but it's part of the transaction. It took me until my late 20s to fully understand my grandfather saying "money is a byproduct of doing what you love." Sorry for the length but your message was spot on! The journey is what's amazing and sharing your passion, money is great, but don't become jaded, enjoy the journey. You'll notice your fan base grow because they will want that passion that you give more than the how to!! Subscriber for life!!
Thanks!
Nice video Shawn. I’ve enjoyed making things for as long as I can remember. I just got back into turning after being away from if for more than thirty years.
That was a rock solid message and very true. Really got me thinking why I love what I do. Thanks Shawn.
Love the message, but not the shaky video. Thumbs up!
That a lovely message.
I do leather goods for selling, and while it's not my main source of income, working on that actually reliefs me off the office's stress and clears my mind. And then, there's the satisfaction of making something nice and useful that someone else will use and hopefully cherish.
Shaun this is by far the best voice over video you have done so far. Loved the video.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Killer message!
Thanks man.
Tim Taylor has a new channel---he is using your footage and sped your voice up to make it sound different-------the episode where you make coasters and a wood foot mat
Couldn’t find it
Nice looking pen Shawn! Thanks for sharing the video.😎👍JP
I'm an Architect, Engineer, Woodworker etc. but I prefer to be called a Maker.
