Yeezus is one of if not the most underrated concept albums of all time. Highly suggest listening to Dissect Podcast seasonal analysis on the entire album. Breaks it down very in depth.
Kissland and dawn FM are too. They gave respect to some amazing stuff today
It's not that underrated imo alot of people rave about it. It's the "I swear I have obscure music taste" album for rap bros. It's really good but I think deathgrips just does Yeezus better than Yeezus it's just less accessable.

But Yeezus is not better than at least 3 deathgrips albums. Also The Money Store (the DG album that sounds the most likely Yeezus) came out before Yeezus.

Mmlp 2 is perfectly rated for me because there’s a lot of people that hate it and loves it so that balances out to just being a decent album which I think it is
Complete 🗑 never been more disappointed by an album like in hindsight recovery is 🗑 too honestly relapse is better than sslp and tes and a much much better album than anything since it. I ducking love relapse so much.

@@uche4254 on god I didn’t hear relapse when it came out I really got into Eminem’s music when I started smoking weed in 9th grade and my friends played must be the ganja off relapse. When I listened to his whole discography bad meets evil was new. I thought relapse was his best album then. Now I might say mmlp but relapse still clears all the late stuff and holds up right there with mmlp for me. Ngl I did like recovery at first it took like 40 listens and I’m like wait this shit is ass lol.
I think it would be held better if it wasn’t titled MMLP2, yeah it has callbacks and of course Stan sequel, some skit continues but I think it could of been labeled anything else and then wouldn’t be compared to MMLP. I don’t think you could make a true sequel to that thing. I skip more songs than I play, but Bad Guy itself is incredible to me I almost hate it came out when it did becayse I truly believe you could place that as Em’s last song retirement etc. also the production on MMLP is consistent , 2 is just all over with classic Em Dre stuff, Rubin stuff and just nothing that seems cohesive. I think Em wanted to signal I’m back, Slims back but he only is for a bit. It’s a pretty okay run but it does nothing to argue the idea that Em still can’t come close on a complete project that even compares to the original trilogy of albums. Also say what you want the Kendrick song is just…why why go that route other than to subvert expectations which just didsapoints, still hoping we get a rappity rap Em/Kdot again to make up for it, though idk if I’d even be hyped for it now in 2023

You guys keep throwing too much hate at MMLP2! It’s not perfect, but it’s lightyears ahead of anything he’s dropped since then (kamikaze was ight). It has its corny moments, some questionable production choices, but it has a shitload of quality bars and more good beats than his newer projects.
The love game take is awful it’s not the best Kendrick feature but I love how he uses the story of GKMC in this feature to expand it
I love that song, not every song needs to be a hard hitting banger.

Utopia is a good album, but there is just no denying astroworld had that instant hit feeling the second you’d put it on. It’s 17 tracks with arguably not a single miss. Astroworld is still yet to be topped on Travis discography
Astroworld is definitely topped by rodeo. Astroworld is great but rodeo is one of the best trap albums of all time. For me utopia is on par with Astro cuz I just loved the darkness and I think utopia has far better performances by Travis while I think for the most part astroworld gets carried by features except for songs like sicko mode, astrothunder, and no bystanders.
Utopia is properly rated. But Astroworld has at least 2 skips
I always find it weird when people say, “this album has no misses,” but I feel like that can’t be true. Not everyone is going to agree that an album is skipless, so I don’t get why people spend their time commenting that. With that being said I think Yosemite, who what!, Houstonfornication and coffee bean are all skips for me so imo not a skipless album.

@@jamescunliffe1718 really, I think people only big up that song because it’s one of the few Travis Scott songs that are somewhat introspective but his performance is so low energy and emotion that it feels uninteresting after like the first minute. Like you can have songs with low key vibes but you actually need to sound like you’re trying, hell stop trying to be god and rip screw do a better job at that then coffee bean.

My opinions on the albums in this video:
Utopia: overrated right now, but thats just becaude of all of the hype arohnd it. When the hype dies down it will probably be well rated
Yeezus: underrated. Its been getting mote love now, but still a little bit underrated. This is Ye's best solo albums from the 2010s.
MMLP2: overhated and underrated. The amount of people I see hating on this album is weirdly high. Its not em's best work but it still has some good songs. Dont think it would get as much hate if someone held to a lower. standard dropped it.
DLDT: well rated. This album is talked about a decent amount, but not too much. Which works because its a good album, but it's not incredible.
Dawn FM: underrated, this is top 3 the weeknd. There are so many bangers on this album, yet no one seems to talk about it. Every song is good, and the great tracks work really well.
AGaaC: I'm a little biased because I don't normally like gunna, and this is by far his worst project, but I think its very Overrated. It was just boring.
Renaissance: This album isn't personally for me, I dont usually like Beyonce very much. But I'll say that this album is slightly underrated, I dont hear many non Beyonce fans talk about it. Overall, its not her best album, but its fun.
Coloring Book: well rated, it's talked about quite a bit, but it deserves it. If I had ti pick I would say slightly underrated. People brush off chance, but I think he deserves another chance (heh) This album is very good.
An Evening With Silk Sonic: Underrated. This is a really fun album. It's not a masterpiece, but not every album needs to be. Sometimes it can just be fun. And this album is really fun.
Limbo: Underrated, this is another album that gets better when you just let it be fun. It's a really good album.
Mmlp2 is class
Utopia is rated correctly. I feel like theres an even amount of discourse where people either over sell the album and just straight hating. Its a great album. Its not the best of all time, its def not the worst. But overall, I think its rated well
Dawn FM is the most impressive pop album since doowops and hooligans. The only other person in the history of this planet that could make an album remotely close to Dawn fm and STILL could NOT replicate it is Michael Jackson's. The writing on dawn FM is some of the great this world has ever seen besides top teir hip-hop albums like Kendrick and mf doom

The point of MMLP is to represent what Eminem wants to say in what style he's into, it was never supposed to sound like the original.

Till this day i don't understand why these guys hate the MMLP2 so much and MTBMB they are decent albums and not bad like revival or other rap albums, I do kinda agree that MMLP2 is a bit better and slowly becoming a classic as far as closing eminems story with the Slim Shady person. MTBMB is eminem having fun and tapping in modern rap the album has no story but still is good probably his best ever since revival.

beyoncé take was crazy. the distant harmonies coming in in the little bridge section on cozy were gorgeous. production on the whole album is some of the best i’ve heard to date in general
I really like DELRESTO honestly. Surprised it’s been cited as one of the weaker moments. It was definitely a grower for me.

I’m going to have to disagree with Luca, this album is definitely not Travis’s worst studio album, that belongs to Birds, no disrespect to birds because it’s such an amazing album, but utopia is much more fascinating, unique, different, and brings a much better aesthetic that you can feel throughout the whole album. While I don’t know if I can say it’s better than Astroworld, I think it’s easily tied. It’s just such a different crazy beautiful album with a much more central focus on Travis and his rapping and producing abilities.

Mmlp2 is nowhere near my favorite Eminem album but, is it overrated? No. I feel like mmlp2 is at the perfect “decent” category and people don’t over praise or over hate this album enough for it to be any of the two categories. It aged ok and I still feel the same about it now as I did 10 years ago. Nothing super memorable to me other than bad guy or rap god

Bad takes on MMLP2. First, if the album had a different name, people wouldn't hate it as much, you hate it because of dumb expectations related to the title. Second, yes, it is a good album and the best Eminem album after the big three (SSLP, MMLP and TES). Eminem raps his ass off on this album, and I'm not talking about rapping fast, I'm talking about bars, rhyme schemes, flows, etc. You're nitpicking a bunch of shit about the album like, what's the problem with him doing a Yoda impression? And how exactly did it not age well? I never get this complaint about music. To me if something sounded good when I first heard it, it will still sound good if I revisit it later. Regardless, like I said, it's a good album and I will always defend it. Evil Twin best song btw.
MMLP2 is his most diverse sounding album. We have a stylish slice from everything he has done through his career there.(I honestly don't get the hate for the Rap-Rock influenced songs)
Also his pen game was mindblowing it's his best album lyrically.

UTOPIA isn't nowhere near MID. You won't get another album that remotely sounds like Utopia for a long time. Most mainstream Hip Hop rappers are literally the same copy and paste. Utopia isn't perfect but it does stand out and has gems on it

Utopia didn’t get criticised for lack of ‘bangers’ - it just doesn’t have much soul. There is too much going on that it forgets to really have any personality.. I rarely get through the whole project without getting fatigued at some stage
