    We moved from Oregon to Arkansas two years ago and I was in food shock! I was used to eating Chinook salmon pretty much any time I wanted it and driving to the coast and having a weekend of fresh fish. Here your options seemed to only be farmed raised catfish and Atlantic salmon. Many other foods that I can’t find here. I started taking Omega 3 supplements last summer after having surgery to remove a sarcoma on my forehead. I’m so glad a friend introduced me to your book. Just looking for a fighting chance.......

      I had terrible, nightly, corneal abrasions. I tried omega 3 from algae, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. My issues resolved once I started to eat oily fish. Everyone's body is different though and, in an ideal world, I would be happier if the algae form worked for me.

      @@barbarafruitbat1245 You might be surprised at the changes you see if you try Orlo's algae-sourced omega-3s because ours are in the polar lipid form, for up to 3x the bioavailability over fish oil. We've had quite a few positive reviews from people who suffered from dry eye (one of our brand creators included!)

    Having spent most of my long life at age 75 1/2 and presently as well living by the sea in New England i.e. Cape Cod and other parts, I LOVE seafood, broiled and wild caught only! This includes shellfish, clams, mussels, oysters, shrimp and lobster! But, once or twice a year near the summer, I'll eat it fried because that's the famous fried clams, what I call "beach food"! I also eat lots of organic veggies, olives, fruit and nuts and don't eat fast foods, sodas and junk food anymore, like I did decades ago! Weaned myself off of that deadly crap. So, I figure eating beach food once or twice a year isn't going to kill me. I also take healthy supplements like Vit. D3 with K2 and get plenty of Vit. C and other necessary vitamins and minerals. My late beloved mother, a true New Englander told me "fish is brain food", good for the brain and protects against dementia/Alzheimers so try and get those Omega 3's anyway you can i.e. tuna fish sandwiches! I love fish and chips being mostly of English/British descent but I've learned how to make a healthier version at home! The late Queen Elizabeth also loved her fish and chips and had her chef make them homemade for her as well, may she rest in peace~

    I wouldn’t agree that there is no similar product on the market and company that do the same. Company call Zinzino, based in Europe, is doing this for years, same system, best quality of products. I am taking their supplements for a while now and I am very happy with the outcome.

      Zinzino is interesting, but their products are in the triglyceride form, not the polar lipid form -- so isn't like Orlo Nutrition in that way.

    I've always have wondered , is the ratio only important, or, is lowering the omega 6to meet omega3 A better idea? One commenter says omega3 s are higher in DHA than EPA, but ,DHA is the better side of threes. More important! I agree, that this seems to be an info- mertial but, take the info and apply it as you wish, don't have to buy their product, especially if its pricey! Also, have to wonder, packaged fish, or ,packaged algae, which will be fresher?

    • @rredding
      @rredding Před 6 měsíci

      It makes sense to quit using seed oils and margarine completely, they contain ultra processed, chemically treated, omega 6 rich stuff. I wouldn't call it food, because they all nutrients have been removed.
      Make sure you get the DHA, EPA forms of omega 3.
      This can be fatty fish, fish oil, cod liver in its own oil, or oil made from the proper algae. Check that you have the high quality, not rancid forms. Fish oil often had a Totox number should be low. I purchase a Dutch brand, Arctic Blue, which has a Totox of 5.

    Smoothies are not a good idea...............look at the science about soluble and insoluble fibers and absorbance in the Microbiome.
    Just eat the whole fruit instead of destroying fibers.
    ( it is like eating deep-fried breaded fish....destroy healthy food while ( self ) processing it.

    I am not convinced at all that everyone needs to either eat seafood or take a supplement. I believe the major problem is the fast food processed food and adulterated oils that come with them. Many populations have lived very healthy into their old age without seafood and without supplementation.

    Nothing worse than eating meat,and seafood for health,and nobody can find non-toxic choices. I eat sardines,oysters ,with warning labels all over them. Where are the good fish,most definitely not from a farm. You can’t even pick a better quality without knowing what the hell they’ve done to this one. To me ,when I hear the words all you gotta do,I see the cover up of all they didn’t. They chop the mutated heads off Norwegian salmon and send them to market, and they are raised in decades of past salmon fecal sediment,and medicated food to get them to you. So sick looking ,they dye the opaque carcass pink to please your mind.
