  • Why Are 49,000,000 Tires in This Desert? Did you know that over 1.7 billion tires are manufactured worldwide each year, with a significant portion ending up in landfills like the one in Kuwait? We break down the composition of tires and why their complex materials make recycling a challenging endeavor.
In this video, we explore the origins of these tires, the environmental impact they pose, and the efforts being made to address this pressing issue.
You will also discover the journey of these tires from production to disposal, as we investigate the reasons behind Kuwait's staggering accumulation of tire waste. Learn about the role of tire imports, illegal dumping, and the country's booming car culture in contributing to this environmental dilemma.
But the story doesn't end there. We shed light on the environmental hazards posed by tire fires, recounting infamous incidents like the Baku tire fire and the recent blaze in Kuwait's tire landfill. We also explored the health risks associated with toxic emissions from burning tires and groundwater contamination.
Amidst the challenges, there is hope. You will witness the efforts of the Kuwaiti government to address the tire waste crisis through relocation and recycling initiatives. And also learn about innovative recycling processes that transform old tires into consumer products, reducing their environmental footprint.
However, Kuwait is not alone in facing waste management challenges. We will take a glimpse into China's struggle with mounting waste, including the haunting sight of electric vehicle graveyards, and discover the initiatives being implemented to tackle waste disposal in China and the role of individuals in minimizing environmental impact.

Tires can also be used in cement kilns as fuel. Many of the chemical residue is chemically contained in the cement .

These tires can be used for road beds, railroad, parking lot, airports, and more. Just cut the sides out. Lay them flat, and fill with gravel. Sand if just for car roads.

This does not need to be a problem and can even be generating money. It is just laziness ...
Steel from the tires must be removed. The remains can be used as feedstock in gasification reactors with plasma burners to produce syngas that can be converted to middle distillates and lots of other useful products.

Remember The Ferengie Rules of Acquisition. Don’t give up an opportunity to make a profit . There’s profit from used tires.

If heated without oxygen, the tire can be rendered into fuel oil.

If there's cement plant nearby the tyre disposal area,
Then the tyres can be used as fuel for burning clinker

The best option is for chemical degradation of these tires back into asphalt/tar like goo - that can then be used in the road and asphalt roadwork construction.

We have some of the same, or tires are remanufactured into a solid upper and lower matting, with crumbled rubber inbetween, for a soft ground around play sets etc.

wait, 60 THOUSAND miles? tyre manufacturers recommend [at best] 30,000, but suggest you should be changing your tyres at around 20,000 for the front, depending upon whether you drive a rear or front drive car. but at the very most, rear tyres should be changed by 40,000 miles with front tyres needing to be changed at around 20,000 because of extra wear due to weight. and thats for your standard car, not an suv, which is obviously heavier!

Cars are a big problem even if there electric. Trains, buses and ships should be priority. flying should only be for leaving orbit of planet and emergency services. If architecture of city intergrated residents in to city centers with no erben housing just city apartments then public transport would be efficient and used to travel to industry work zones or to travel to other city's and dock's or under sea train tunnel s. Architecture is priority for progress. Emergency services vehicle should be the only consideration for tiered wheeled vehicles. All resident should live in city centres. In the 21 century there shouldn't be any villages or towns and city housing estates. Towns and villages are the biggest problem for public transport especially Trans. Architecture needs to change demolishion and redevelopment should be priority and building in field should be illegal. All architecture investment should be for redevelopment of inner city's to move people from all the villages and towns in to city's. Cars are false economy and travel routes are obsolete. People should be educated, entertained, shop and live in the same place. And parks should separate inner citys, industry zones, farm's and natural landscapes. Integrity of architecture is essential in inner city living for privacy a healthy life for people. The only private space needed is the place you rest. In a modern transparent 21 century world. A house built on farm land with a colourful car representing false economy and is not helping progress. Cars are unnecessary in modern city life. City life provides the most freedom of choice for all ages, so why would people live anywhere else and take away there own freedom of choice. Cars would naturally decline with modern city architecture. Reality is important and that start with city life to represent genuine economy progress. 2:28
