    If you can’t afford equipment, food, or a potential vet visit then don’t get the animal full stop. Far too many people treat having a pet as a right. You also wouldn’t bring home an animal without having a set up ready (I’d hope), so having a vet on hand ready is just as important. A good exotic vet are worth their weight in gold.

    Getting green anoles again! It's probably been close to a decade since I last kept them. Love their temperament and how active they are. Never had issues taming my past ones, and they seem pretty intelligent for their size, so I'm also curious whether it would be possible to target-train them with enough patience. This time I'm modifying a 2' x 2' x 6' tall grow tent into a semi-tropical bioactive viv for them... I might never see them lol.

    I've been wanting to get my hands on an African fat tail gecko or a leopard gecko for awhile now, and even after this much research, I'm still finding myself hesitating and even pondering if I should get something else like a Crestie. It's a lot to think about but it's so incredibly important if we want to do what's best for our scaly babies

    Hi there, I could use some advice.
    I recently went on holiday, and my aunt was taking care of my leopard gecko. She was a bit nervous about feeding live mealworms, so she gave her freeze-dried ones instead.
    Now that I’m back, my gecko isn’t interested in live food anymore. Have you ever experienced something like this? Do you have any tips on how to get her back to eating live food?
    Thanks so much for any help you can offer! 🦎

    I was gonna ask about the enclosure size. I know they need more length than height. I was thinking of giving him a 3ft by 2ft by 18 inch tank and was wondering if they'd use that extra height. So yeah that decides me. Thanks for the advice. Oh and also im planning on building a reptile room when I remodel my house. Could you maybe do a video talking about what you would do, some advice, things you wish you knew or would do different. I'm trying to learn as much so I can avoid any foul ups later, thanks

    • @Monsterkitty1220
      @Monsterkitty1220 Před měsícem +1

      18 inches is a pretty perfect min height for a leo. Anything shorter will make incredibly difficult if not impossible to get the correct UVI with your UVB and temp with your overhead heating at your basking because of things like an appropriate loose substrate, hides, etc add to the height very quickly 😁

    hi @leopardgeckotalk i need help with something and i really do hope you see this. i just recently bought a crestie that is about 6months old (i bought him two days ago), and he will not eat or come down from the very very top left corner of his tank. i tried to hand feed him but then he got very aggressive. i really dont know what to do.

    • @BennyK-yz2zu
      @BennyK-yz2zu Před měsícem +1

      I’d just leave him be for a couple days and place some preprepared food like Pangea inside the tank. Don’t stress if he doesn’t eat in the first bit of time you have him.

    Ive watched a lot of your videos and you suggest heat emitters for a crested, i need advice PLEASE!! i live in Louisiana and it is fairly hot and humid year round, my house sits at about 73 farenheit all day, we tried a heat emitter but it seems to dry the tank out far too quickly and i honestly dont think he should even have one because its already close to 75 and weve had him for almost a year and he seems fine! If anyone could give me advice so I know Im not torturing my little guy it would be SO APPRECIATED❤️❤️

    • @BennyK-yz2zu
      @BennyK-yz2zu Před měsícem

      I mean if it’s already on the hotter side, you probably don’t NEED a heater. Id still get one though, especially if you’re going to need it in the winter. Just hook it up to a thermostat, and it probably won’t come on too much anyway.
      But yeah, I live in Phoenix Arizona, so I understand the struggle. My brother wasn’t even able to get a crestie because we keep our house at 82-84 degrees during the summer. 🤣

    • @bleach-x3b
      @bleach-x3b Před měsícem +1

    • @BennyK-yz2zu
      @BennyK-yz2zu Před měsícem +1

      @@bleach-x3b Sorry, I use the deep heat projector so I don’t know any good brand names for ceramic heat emitters. All I know is that you’re supposed to use a pulse thermostat and not a dimming or on/off thermostat. Hope that helps!

    I have a question. I bought 2 baby leopard geckos yesterday and I am putting them in the same tank for now. One is a bit bigger than the other and the smaller one won’t eat, the big one is eating a lot though. Is this normal or should I separate them?

    • @BennyK-yz2zu
      @BennyK-yz2zu Před měsícem

      Definitely separate them. The fact that the small one isn't eating is already hugely problematic, and it'll get way worse over time anyways.
