Erkenci Kus (English title: Early Bird) is a Turkish-made romantic comedy series by Gold Film.
Sanem (Demet Özdemir) is a girl who works in her father's grocery store and is loved by everyone. But her family tells her that she will marry if she can't find a job. Sanem starts working in an advertising agency to avoid getting married. But she doesn't know what awaits her in her new job. The manager of his company is the handsome, intelligent and cultured Can (Can Yaman). Since Sanem always manages to get into trouble, this situation attracts Can's attention and a great love story begins.

Just an observation, Sanem has lost all concept of patients. The incident on the couch with Can should have given her an idea that perhaps he was beginning to have feelings for her. She wants it to be exactely as it was before the accident asap. It annoys because a woman truly in love would be willing to give all the time needed for him to remember.

I thought Samen was appealing until the episodes where Can lost his memory. She is silly, has no pride, and a total turn off.
I thought it was hilarious when Can looked up and Sanem said not there and pointed along a bit further. Don’t mind the Debbie Downers, they don’t seem to be able to see the humour in it.
Patience is needed Sanem. For anyone who has experienced memory loss, as I have, it is very frustrating for that person. People do not believe them. We live in fear of never remembering or of forgetting. I feel for Can.

By far my fav part where Sanem tells about her feelings at the beach. Demet is absolutely great at comic scenes but how she’s brilliant at dramatic performances! I wish we could see more of her in various movie genres besides romantic endless series

Come on guys, Sanem has been through hell and high water for Jan. How many times has he walked away from her. He exes came around and she stayed, but he left the first time she said go. She took a chance and reached out, kissing him, buying back his boat. Of course she wanted to settle things with her dad, but she was still leaving with Jan. Now this, of course her patience is short and her heart broken. In her shoes what would you do? She has been through a lot for this guy. I get the first time the lying, he was upset. He understood perfectly why she gave the perfume to Fabbri, he himself told Jan, but still like his dad he was unforgiving. She has saved this company twice. I think she deserves an award for evening being willing to jump in the fire again. I say GO SANEM.
How many times has he walked away. Just once when she broke his trust. The 1st time they broke up ge found out she lied. His reaction was understandable. But he forgave her and they got back together. Same thing 2nd time, but they worked it out and got back together. How else were they supposed to handle these issues? People keep saying he's left her multiple times, but he only left once.

I understand completely how she’s reacting. I think I would be the same way. Sanem is so afraid that Can won’t recover his love for her that every minute that he doesn’t love her feels like a century. She even says something like this. She knows logically that he has no control over his amnesia, but she still feels such extreme fear and impatience, that she feels like he’s not “doing enough” to recover his memories. It’s not a very kind or compassionate way to act, but Sanem is known to be, as Can has said, a bit “evil” sometimes.
There's no way you an force your lost memory to come back. It must be triggered, by an event.

Does anyone find it strange how Can warmed up to Sanem so quickly in the beginning of the episode? It feels rushed. As though they're back to being lovers even with no memory of his love for her.

Sanem’ tenderness toward the others begins to be noticed to Can. Can’s gazes are very shocking. Such as when they were together in the “hamock looking at the starry night. That scene melted me.

It's ironic how Sanem tells Can that she wants to be left alone to relax and breathe, but when he tried to go away before, to do the same, she followed him and wouldn't leave him alone.
This is the 3rd time I have watched this series. I’m always sad for Sanem during this time. But I remember that she did not like Can when she first met him. She thought he was an arrogant guy who thought a lot about himself. He is back to that guy. Her influence made him change.

Watching this episode I noticed Sanem looked like Sopia Loren with sunglasses on talking Can Yaman ..I enjoy this whole series the best of all ,acting done by all is superb ..I hope I see them act together in another series...
Series is almost at an end will miss these guys but I'm watching Love for Rent which is also entertaining and has two equally stunning lead actors, Baris Arduc and Elcin Sangu.

When you’re in a deep depression the medication you’re given numbs you and you live life like you’re in a daze. That’s done to help you forget and numb the pain or trauma that you’re going through. So yeah it’s very similar. The difference is Sanem didn’t want to forget her love for him she just couldn’t handle the pain but Can didn’t want to remember his love for Sanem because he couldn’t handle the guilt of what he did to her.
I wish i can do more to help salene ease her mind even for a while.😊

Sanem, you have been patient quite a time, please extend a little bit more for the sake of love, stop being stubborn and moody please extend more understanding to Can's situation, amnesia is not easy to cure

This is my third time watching Erkenci kus. It was my first turkish series.I am a big fan of turkish drama.I have a big problem with the way the character JJ is physically abusive to the other actors in the series,he is always hitting someone or screaming at them, no matter how funny you may think he is it is abusive, is there any one watching that also feels this way?
I have a problem with Sanem's character. Everything bad that happens to them is because of her. Even the accident was due to her wanting to go beg her father to forgive her and give his approval like if she did something wrong. I don't think she ever matured. I mean you have the unmatched man of your life back (who was gone only by your fault too) and yet you keep putting him in second place. I really don't understand her love and how she says she loves him. I'm mad at her. Was mad at her the whole series. Then she acts and behaves like if all this was Can's fault. I sure can't stand this about Sanem. Can is her victim 90% of the time. She has no reason to be mad at him.
I second that. She is self obsessed, selfish and arrogant. She caused the separation by believing yigit over Can. Imagine she knows Can hates lies and sge accused him of lying and burning her book. When Can comes back she is still siting with yigit, having coffee breaks with him and going on local book reading sessions !!! What kind of love is that ? Peopl e don't see it but sanem is not a good partner. Can suffered alot because of her lies , accusations, arrogant and selfishness. Now that he lost his memory she is still being arrogant and asking him to hurry up and remember everything!! She is blaming him for memory loss !! How stupid can this woman be !!!

I think the issue here is that patience is needed from both sides. Sanem is overreacting but she has been through a lot of trauma. Not long ago she was taking medication and she had no balance and she compared her trauma with Can's in a way that she went through heavy medication and still could not forget their love while he did. It is not a rational way of thinking but she is still suffering from PTSD. That is unfair to Can yes but he is also putting up a front and has put up defence mechanisms because everyone tells him about this great love and he feel obligated to those expectations that put him under huge pressure and the fact that he learned that he had caused pain to the love of his life and does not remember it is another added pain. Both of them need to find themselves half way but they are on extremes out of fear and pain.

Sanem can be very insensitive. This guy lost his memory, how does she expect him to think if he holds her hands, he’ll feel the love? He needs ppl to suggest it to him.. she needs to be patient, she’s not being easy on him, she’s thinking of herself alone not fair
If you are talking about what Aziz said to Can, when he said “Don’t let go of Sanem’s hand” he doesn’t mean it literally. He’s telling Can, don’t break the connection with Sanem; don’t let his relationship with her fade away, don’t leave her side and don’t let her leave him. Because if he loses her, and then he regains his memory, he’ll be devastated over what he gave up. That’s why when Sanem says goodbye and gives him up at the end of Ayesha’s party, Can is so broken up about it, because in his confusion about his feelings for her, he let her slip away. Also, when they argue at the rocks beforehand, and he tells Sanem what his dad say about holding her hand, and she retorts, “You should have thought of that yourself” I feel like the English translation of his words is wrong, because what they translate isn’t really what Aziz said to Can earlier.
They act on this drama series exactly how a true life relationship can be ,,,if a woman give up a relationship and that’s the end

I can’t be the only one thinking Sanem was not being compassionate. I get she feels forgotten but Can literally forgot. I don’t like the whole “you’re not trying hard enough” attitude. Love is patient.
I am with you on this one. I feel sanem was always like this. Everything was always about her. She trusted yigit over Can , caused major separation. If it wasn't for Can's dad he would never have cone back to her. Now common the man lost his memory. How can he try hard ? Sanem was depressed , it is not same as memory loss. Can had a major head injury and sanem showed no compassion. Can is still trying , asking her to ne patient. Sanem was wrong here
Sanem is only human, so yes love is supposed to be patient, but sometimes human beings feel other emotions that work against that patience. Not to take away from Can’s trauma, but Sanem has been through all levels of hell, too, and not of her own making this time. It’s illogical, but not unusual for Sanem to “blame” Can for not remembering their love, even though she knows he’s not at fault for his amnesia. As she said, every minute he doesn’t remember is like a year to her and she frustrated and afraid it will never happen.

I think that her behavior now is so irrational, edgy, and almost mean because she is at the end of her rope emotionally and psychologically. In the past two years, Sanem has suffered extreme highs and extreme lows in her relationship with Can, and their undying love took a lot of hard knocks due to all the mistakes and misunderstandings they made that hurt each other. But finally, they have found harmony and they are of like minds about everything, and bam! their world falls apart again. Of course, neither is to blame and poor Can is helpless to force his mind to remember what his amnesia is keeping from him. But to Sanem, it’s the one final event that seems too much like the killing blow to their relationship. She can’t fix it, she can’t reverse it, nothing she’s tried helps. She doesn’t understand or see the torment Can’s going through, but she can see how new women flirt with him, and she can hear that he doesn’t feel any love for her in his heart. As irrational as it is, she wants Can to do something to make himself remember, though we all know that is not how it works. She feels him slipping away and has no idea what she means to him any more. She’s scared more,than she ever has been before and can’t do anything to make things better. To me, her behavior is so authentic and understandable.
