I will always love Sauvage
It's all about marketing. Pure and simple. They convince us that each of these is a masterpiece. And a lot them aren't.
Ironically, when everyone was hating on Sauvage, I loved it - I got a sample. I didn't understand the hate.
By the time I could afford it and bought a bottle, everyone was raving about it and putting it on top ten lists. But by the time I got it, I was like - meh! As mu nose had developed smelling several other fragrances between the time I first sampled it, and actually got a full bottle
Sauvage is awesome, I don't care what anybody says
Still CDNIM is top rated but other flankers released made it down in the market.
Actually, CDNIM pure parfum is a masterpiece

I almost hate baccarat rouge because of many clones that are in the market.

I thought for sure that Joop Homme would be #1 but it didn't make the list and I have Le Male Flasque De Voyage bpi and I love how the original formula performs and the bottle caught my eye being a Flasque instead of a torso I'm always on the hunt for the older versions of popular fragrances to understand why people complain about their performance as I have 2 bottles of Hawas made in February of 22 that still have Butylphenyl Methylpropional (lilial)in them and are nuclear every fragrance I have with that banned ingredient has great performance but I believe some companies have found something else to use because Ahmed Kaaf is ridiculous in performance as is A Chaos in the Ocean but I hear that Atlas is stronger than it have a safe blessed wonderful day

There was a time in my country Brut was overused.
Since fragrances smell differently on each person due to skin chemistry, I think the whole “ my ex wore it” situation is overblown. I have a lot of fragrances and have dated a bit, I’ve never received that comment.
The only one I don't like is 1 million. It's 40°c outside and someone comes in with 20 shots of 1 million, drowning everyone with cinnamon and spices. I understand why people like it, but it's very annoying.
Hated by fragheads but loved by normal folks.

The top sellers are always the most hated. Success means that some people will hate you. Who are the most hated people in entertainment? Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, all successful, all top selling artists, all hated. Acqua di Gio, Aventus, Sauvage, you can say the exact same thing.

Put it in Air conditioner (room) if no option then fridge
