    Congratulations, You Sir, are now know as an authority on the subject of tremolo set up. I saw one of your video's today and then I was another website and there was a link to go here. As well as that, there were comments of people from the website that also found your information to be very helpful. And me,...I'm just a guy who likes to type.

    @fendertender1 check your top lock if it holds the strings tight. Just pull a string behind the nut and check your tuning. You might also replace your tremolo springs with a good new set.

  • @FruduaTv

    Talked to a luthier who knew SRV's tech. Instead of drilling the string holes (bad idea on a vintage guitar) Stevie's tech would use shrink tubing around the base of the string. It gives it something to glide on instead of binding.

    love your videos. I just purchased a used Fender stratocaster 2006. I just learned the hard way to check to see that the truss rod works ! When I checked a few days after purchasing it, I noticed that the nut was stripped. I saw a tool online that is a 1/8 tapered hex that they say will allow you to adjust a stripped nut. My question is........ can we change the truss rod nut on a 2006 usa strat ? I know that fender sells the replacement truss rod nuts. Cheers !!!

    @originalMOON3R The new set of strings is pulling more than the original one. Even if they still were 009/42 they are slightly different. Nothing bad but you need to setup your instrument for this new set of strings for perfect performance.

  • @FruduaTv
    @FruduaTv  Před 13 lety +1

    @cobol11111 By straightening the neck a little more you are making the action feel a bit more confortable and once you get accustomed eith the sightly lower actio this will be fine. Allow one week playing. Resist. Also be sure the lower action does not affect your playing dynamic.

    @stratnuts hi dont know if u had any helpful replys yet but you have 2 options ether drill and retap a thread but you will need a larger diameter trem arm to fit ,, option 2 is to drill out the old threads big enough to glue in a lenth of threaded pipe with an internal diameter to match your trem arm threads .. may be less hastle to buy a second hand / used one off ebay or sutch hope this helps

  • @FruduaTv
    @FruduaTv  Před 13 lety

    @cobol11111 I I understand what you mean tha answer is no. Adjusting the truss rod involves some retouch of the tuning but not so imrotant to affect the floating of a bridge to the point to make it flush on the guitar and you no longer able to pull

  • @FruduaTv
    @FruduaTv  Před 12 lety

    @chimpautan Hi this is actually a NON-problem :) If you check the videos these old players they bend at hell and at the end of the solos almost all of them strikes the tremolo arm to go back in tune as I explain here. See Ritchie Blackmore videos for example here on the tube. BUT if you want to get rid of this you can mod your guitar as I explain the series of 5 videos you see here in the channel "setup your strat for best tremolo use".
