As per the Geneva Convention, a Firearm is meant to KILL, END LIFE. The weapon is TAKEN OUT of the military if it only maims the target. Even if the target is rendered useless and ineffective, they are supposed to be dead, not injured. As per the Geneva Convention, the 1917 Trench gun(basically the world's first automatic shotgun) was not to be used in combat as it usually didn't KILL the target, rather blew his limbs off and rendered him incapacitated, but not dead. Military weapons are not designed to maim a target, they are specifically designed from stage 1 to kill the target, not maim it.

most weapons damage is limited by the realities of the physics involved. ex: an edged weapon can only be so good with its physical limitations, and your portability requirements. Or a gun can only do so much damage while balancing for capacity, portability, control etc. its not like most weapons are purposefully nerfed to be less dangerous. its not like you go with 9mm v .50 because you want less lethality. there's huge trade offs. and the "less lethal" design is a pretty new trend.

Well most weapons are designed to inflict enough damage for their intended use.
A lot of weapons are actually designed to incapacitate rather than kill where possible.
Salt pistols are great for flys and other bugs and insect's. Not going to give maximum damage against much else. And when I think maximum damage, I think true maximum, but I doubt an AR-15 could destroy the universe and all dimensions.

most weapons damage is limited by the realities of the physics involved. ex: an edged weapon can only be so good with its physical limitations, and your portability requirements. Or a gun can only do so much damage while balancing for capacity, portability, control etc. its not like most weapons are purposefully nerfed to be less dangerous. its not like you go with 9mm v .50 because you want less lethality. there's huge trade offs. and the "less lethal" design is a pretty new trend.

@@Race_Ready_1320 a US army officer goes through 12weeks basic training and 12weeks OCS. They definitely held rifles and fired more than 300rounds alone in that 24 weeks. And most generals were in the infantry so went to afghanistan iraq or whatever. That guy doesnt even know how to properly hold a gun.
