For two of the most whimsical and wonderful family-friendly capers of the 2010s, "Paddington" and "Paddington 2" have a lot more to say about the state of the world than "Marmalade is delicious". I mean, they do say that, but there's also some political stuff in there as well...

I discovered Paddington 2 when I read a cop's comment on a Reddit post, telling a story about that one time he accidentally mentioned the movie with a straight face as his fellow officers talked about recidivism.
I haven't watched Paddington, but from what I've seen, Paddington is really well animated - I mean, he doesn't feel off and very alive (which doesn't happen on Lion King 2019). Need to check this out :D

Thinking about Paddington always makes me cry. It's just so wonderful. He's just so wonderful. I love these films so much.
They have so much heart and empathy for humanity as a whole, it's a beautiful representation of the good we can strive to put back into the world. That's rare and should rightly be cherished
