Electrical engineer here, be careful leaving it plugged in for too long, batteries have a failsafe to not overcharge, but sometimes those fail. If the failsafe fails, the battery will explode Lol
Just plug it in the night before or a few hours before you plan on going anywhere :)
no clue if this is the case for ebikes because if it's designed well this can be prevented, but on many phones if you leave it plugged in when it's already fully charged, that will slowly damage the battery over time, so leaving your bike always plugged in may be reducing your range over time
A cargo bike seems to do a fantastic job as being a car replacement, I’m getting a bakfiets soon. The main issue is that most people who are able to drive a car wouldn’t be comfortable riding a bike in the middle of the road, even less people who aren’t able to drive a car, but my county council seems to be leading the other three county councils in my county in building bike infrastructure. Still really slow though.

I'm actually interested in a bike like this. I drive a normal bike, but a small electric bike that is cheap as backup would be nice. I'm going to look into it.
I will just say that poor battery quality can cause a huge threat to life so I wouldn't cheap out on an electric. Though I am not sure if 500 is reasonable enough of a price.

Im in the US and bought an ebike, saves me so much gas money here. I'm upgrading mine to be more of a war machine (It goes 25mph, but when im done it'll be 40-50 hehe)

@@davisvoelzke8011 this is a very common counter point that you could just google the solution to but @wafity is not talking about a total car ban, thats simply not possible. Rural areas can be improved though, more train stations and increasing the frequency of buses could push people to not use a car for long distance travel, yes they will still have a car for local travel. Improving the safety of these rural areas for bikes would also encourage people to try a bike for short distance travel. All of this is cool but rural areas are not the first target, upgrading local and intercity travel for denser areas is much more important as they have way more people.
Yes I am in full support of walkable, bikeable cities! Next I hope your country does away with the dumb "you can't own an escooter law". This seems like a holdover from something else. Do you know why you aren't allowed to own an escooter?
They're worried about having to revoke permission and/or require a license and insurance later, so they're using third-party companies as the gate keepers right now
