The bottom line about "The Catcher and the Rye" is it's just about some loser who just complains about how bad his life is, personally I probably would've done a little bit better in English if we read Japanese Anime instead.
“iT hAs nO pLoT” “hOlDeN iS aN uNlIkAbLe cHaRaChTeR” “iTs a bOok aBoUt nOtHiNg” “iTs pRoBlEmAtIC” These same people likely consider Ulysses to be one of their favorite novels.
I only grew more fond of it, upon reading it as an adult. I wager these "critics" hate it so much because it struck a nerve. It doesn't really surprise me that a bunch of degenerate "woke" people who hate themselves, God, and the sanctity of innocence and purity; hate the book and Holden as a character. I'm sure they would have rated the novel highly if instead of protecting Pheobe, Holden was taking her to Drag shows and Gender Studies lectures at the local University.
From my understanding, I always thought it was one of the classics as a kid. You know, it’s got the whole title where it sounds deep or is trying to communicate a metaphor for something. Idk, hard to explain. But, I don’t really think you can presume that these critics are liberalist leftists or left-leaning when you have no evidence to suggest so being the case. “Woke” people r pretty irrelevant to these reviews if you ask me🤷♀️

It does sound boring from what I've heard but these people are more annoying
No its pretty fuckin bad lmao
Did they lie? Most of American 'classics' suck. Only a few of them really stand out and no Catcher in the Rye isn't one.
