- Japanese Street Food at Kamakura is a can't miss street food tour destination. This is your Japan Street Food good for the Kamakura area and more specifically Komachi Dori also known as komachi street, which runs parallel to Kamakura’s main street, Waka miya oji. Komachi street is a long straight shopping street with about 250 shops and within it a variety of can’t miss food spots making this area a street food lover’s paradise. Komachi Dori showcases a street food market type atmosphere and is perfect for food tourism. It's only about 1 hour away from Shibuya and Shinjuku so it's a perfect food getaway. But don't be surprised on the weekend as there are plenty of crowds. The best time to go is during the weekday if possible. Since so many people come to Kamakura to go to Shrines and Temples, it's definitely a popular tourist destination for Japan Travelers. Kamakura (鎌倉市 Kamakura-shi) is a city in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Although Kamakura proper is today rather small, it is often described in history books as a former de facto capital of Japan, the nation's most populous settlement from 1200 to 1300 AD as the seat of the shogunate and of the Regency during the Kamakura period. Kamakura was designated as a city on November 3, 1939.
As of September 1, 2016, the modern city has an estimated population of 172,302, and a population density of 4,358.77 persons per km2. The total area is 39.53 km2 (15.26 sq mi).
As a coastal city with a high number of seasonal festivals, as well as ancient Buddhist and Shinto shrines and temples, Kamakura is a popular tourist destination within Japan.

The #1 is no more!! I just asked the gentleman at the stall if they still served it and he said they do not. But his taiyaki is delicious! It is flaky like a croissant.

I live in Australia and i’m so in love with Japanese culture, people and food. The people are always smiling and so respectful. I definitely want to travel to Japan when i’m old enough. Just everything about the country make me fall in love. I respect the culture and it’s very different to African culture.
I looove Kamakura. Tokyo is my favorite city in the world but I'd rather live in Kamakura. It's not far from the energy, hustle, bustle and excitement of Tokyo and I can always retreat back to the beautiful, tranquil, serene Kamakura.

People always think food I'm japan is so expensive but eating street food and convenience store is delicious and affordable. Japan I feel like is only as expensive if you want it to be. You can find gems that are affordable if you get off the tourist areas
