  • I just received my new redmi 5 plus and tried the normal charger vs the Qualcomm Quickcharge 3.0 and the phone displays quick charging! I was under the impression this handset doesn’t have quick charge support. Let me know in the comments if this works for you. Sorry for the poor video quality.

Yes it does has QC3.0. Using the Ampere Software it reports 2500mA current flowing to the phone while charging... Just make sure ur charger has QC 3.0. The phone will show Circle Lightning when QC is working...

OokTiaopi Yes I have used QC 3.0 and its does make a difference in the charge time its a lot faster. Also the icon does change to the lightening.

Are you guys sure it's 3.0? Qualcoom quick charge bricks/devices are always downwards compatible, so it could be, that the phone just supports qc 2.0, even though the SoC is capable of supporting qc 3.0.

Dimitrije Lazic you can buy the QC 3.0 and usually any normal USB cable works. I have found also the Samsung fast charger and cable work for fast charging. That's the one from the s6 to s9.
