  • Hey guys! In this video I install a KO NANO Controller on my SUR RON.
    I took my time installing but could easily do in a half hour.
    I ran into problems after the throttle calibration and could not do the motor calibration. I checked every wire that connected the Bike to the Controller by back probing. Everything was fine. I also installed on another bike but it was the same result. I decided I needed a professional to help me figure this out so I headed to Discord and talked to Ian. It was a 10 hour difference me being on Pacific time and Ian on UK time. Ian was very friendly and patient with me and we tried to troubleshoot every possibility with no success. It was decided that I needed to send out the controller to GritShift in Florida so that it could be tested.
    Shipped out on 3/15/2023.
    Received by GritShift 3/22/2023
    A new Controller was shipped to me on 3/28/2023
    New Controller Received by me on 4/11/2023

    The Baseline tune is Pretty dang strong and needs to be smoothed out by me before I can head into the trails.
    Exact Wrench set I used- amzn.to/3KxB3Z6

      @@MuddyDrivewayProductions Thanks! You've got a better install video than KO themselves. Any tips on the tune? I'll be using it with a stock non bypassed battery for now until I can stomach $2k+ for a chi battery

      Not sure on the tune other than the Base. Was gonna play around with it. I’m just kinda hoping someone would post a tune for trail riding on Discord. If I create one I will definitely post it.
      Thanks 🤙

      Hi Blaine, it was just installed over the weekend. I didn't have a chance to truly ride it. I do 99% trail riding. Just by riding it in the neighborhood I could tell that it needs to be tuned more to my liking. I would need to mellow it out a bit before I hit the dirt. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    You bro got my surron around 2 months ago I’m gonna upgrade to the 72 when I’ve saved up was thinking about getting the motor and controller when connecting to your phone to set up which settings would that be changed to as I seen u put light bee oem what does that’s stand for

    • @ludicrous3851
      @ludicrous3851 Před 10 měsíci

      Also when connected to the controller does it ask about firm ware again when opening it would it be as easy as clicking 72v when I eventually get the battery

      @@ludicrous3851 Light Bee OEM is the stock SUR RON Motor.
      Not sure on the 72V. Might have to use the Desktop to set the low voltage cutoff. Need to check the KO Forum. I plan on getting the KO 72V Battery when it eventually comes out if it cost less than the EBMX of CHI batteries. When KO comes out with the 72v they probably will update the Phone App to make it easier. Hope this helps.

      I'm currently on the stock 5.4 kW tune and it's pretty good on a stock 60V battery. Bypassed would be better though. I do a lot of hill and trail riding with a 60 Tooth sprocket. I have a coupe 60V batteries at my disposal. Once you change the controller and feel the power it can offer you you will never turn back to the stock one. Currently waiting for the 72V Miink battery to unleash the true potential. Purchase the controller from the KO website or a distributor near you. If you run into problems use Discord and ask for help. Or you can also schedule a 1 on 1 meeting with someone from KO. They will ask for proof of purchase. Hope this helps.@@killacom91
