  • Experience "Cowboy Insurance," an original film by Burris Optics, taking you to Gateway Simmental Ranch in Lewistown, Montana. Follow Jim Butcher and his sons, Logan and Brock, as they tackle the challenges of ranching in a raw and demanding environment. Witness their efforts during the intense two-month calving season, where they combat unpredictable weather and predators to ensure the safety of their calves.
    From protecting newborns to locating strays and defending the herd against coyotes, "Cowboy Insurance" provides a rare glimpse into the daily life of modern ranchers. Discover how Burris thermal optics have made the Butchers' job more efficient, saving them time and resources.
    Join us as we explore the practical applications of thermal gear. Brock, who works the night shift, demonstrates how he uses Burris thermals to protect the calves, monitor the herd, and find lost animals in the dark. While thermal technology improves efficiency and equipment durability, being a cowboy is never easy-and that's exactly how they like it.

    I worked a ranch that had donkeys with the herd. They were mean as hell and I would not get near them. I saw what was left of a coyote that went for a new calf. He was bitten and stomped to death. An AR platform with a Burris scope would have been more humane to the coyote.

    I love the laminator scopes. This would be great to be added to it, but they really need to bring down the prices.

    I live in ranch country, Oklahoma. Not a rancher, neighbors are though, my herd is 3 cats and an old Chesapeake Bay dog. Not the most glamorous lifestyle but one of the most rewarding in ways many don’t consider. Rock solid folks who will drop what they are doing to help a neighbor. Great segue into Burris optics. I have an 18 year old 3-9x scope that I sent in for repair. Communication with the tech was fantastic. I asked for advice and got a response within the hour. Scope returned inside a week. Shrink wrapped and packaged like they care about their product. I had a missing adjustment dial cover that was replaced, free of charge. This was a $200 scope 18 years ago. Not a $2,000 one but I was treated as if it were. I honestly can’t thank them enough. Maybe this review will help. 10 stars out of 5!!
    Awesome story, awesome products and awesome service. Burris for life.

      Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experience. We really appreciate the kind words. I'm really glad we were able to repair your scope and get it back in the field where you'd rather be! I agree 100% what you said about ranchers being rock solid folks. I've had the same experience here. Have a great day!

    Excellent film about what seems to an excellent family business. Haven’t used the thermals but can vouch for Burris riflescopes. Have nothing but great things to say about them even the lower end models out perform the price point. I have a fullfield IV 3-12x42 on my muzzleloader and have had great performance out of it even at below zero temperatures. Glad I stumbled upon the brand a few years back.

    I work at a major sporting goods retailer in the firearms department shall we say and I bought one of the BTS50's a year ago or so and I was playing around with it on a 22 because the coyotes literally run right around my cabin really close. I had it one night and heard coyotes playing out in the field. The resolution in the BTS50 is remarkable. I could see the ears of the coyotes at 400 yards. But it was on the 22 dang it!! But that's the way it goes. I keep having customers inquiring about thermals and there are other products out there, but they don't hold a candle to the BTS. Ease of menu is a huge deal to me. If you have to punch 5 buttons and get through multiple menus to change the palette, it's not for me. A lot of hunting requires snap shooting and the adjustments need to be just as quick. I keep having to bring the BTS into work to demo to people so they can really get a grasp on how well the unit is set up. Very Highly Recommended! Be nice if it had a built in dvr but that's in no way a deal breaker. Hell, with today's energy costs, if you are worried about your utility bill, check your house insulation with it. Might pay for itself to get the house reinsulated. Coworker trains law enforcement departments and he borrowed it for a night class where the LEO were using digital NV. Hahaha. Not good enough gentlemen, not quite good enough.

    What is the recoil rating of burris bts-35 ,I want to know the max recoil power it can withstand before I put it on 300 WM

    • @BurrisOpticsCompany
      @BurrisOpticsCompany  Před rokem +1

      There isn't a hard "max" per se. We've used them up to .338 Lapua Magnum on bolt guns and they work just fine. 😁

      They are either the hardest working folks, or the product is of such quality they are looking for something to do. Lol. Either way a win for their customers.

    I hate how rich people buy a bunch of land and call it a "ranch." They don't know the first thing about ranching. Keep it up, don't let real ranching go extinct.
