MorphOS is a lightweight next generation Amiga inspired operating system that is compatible and runs on the PowerPC range of computers. It has great support for old machines and is availible to try out for free

I love this OS and want more people to use it so decided to make this video to help out new users and people who might be stuggeling to get old amiga games and programs working and integrated into the OS.

Just registered my second MorphOS license. First machine is a Mac Mini running my BBS, this second one is my dream of finally having a laptop "Amiga" on a PowerBook G4. Extremely happy with the OS and I had good help with your video since I haven't been fiddling around with the BBS machine for five years now. It's just been running smooth and (relatively) stable as a great BBS server machine.

IMHO MorphOS is the modern Amiga platform.
I really want to get to grips with os4 but morphos has always seemed a lot more open to me
Actually, the "modern" Amiga platform is a fast PC using AmiKit and either Scalos or Directory Opus to replace Workbench and a Rabbit Hole to allow you to run browsers from Windows or Mac OS. There simply is no such thing as a native Amiga browser that can handle modern Web standards at anything other than crawl or crash.

I have a G4 waiting for it, but my enthusiasm waned when I heard the sound doesn't work with some such Macs.
Any idea if that has improved?
Great video Ravi, Amiga emulation has always been a little fiddly. Its nice just to launch the games as if it were a real Amiga with a HDD.

Whdload games need to be extracted in order to run, i was opening them from within a zip/hla file and it kept asking for workbench disks.
Just got my G4 mac mini. MorphOS running, but no Chrysalis installed yet. The 256Meg mini will be upgraded to 1 G soon, which should improve things. Right now the system is saying Wayfarer has run out of memory and stops. Not sure if the Chrysalis package would make a difference -- the running out of memory thing, that is. Looking forward to your part 2.
How much is a full license these days? Is it fairly easy to use this as an amiga compared to a Raspberry Pi 400, in retropie or Amiga Mini, for example. Thanks in advance.
hi! I started using morphos. macmini g4. I'll upgrade to 1GB ram + Msata to IDE disk. One question: I use "remote desktop manager" to work. basically RDP + SSH. There are any sessions manager for it? or its possible to emulate Windows and install a msi?
i wonder if there any Mac emulation available, good to replace OsX and not have to dual boot but run mac stuff from within Morph
You can't run Mac stuff without the Mac OS.
does the mac support 50hz in UAE mode for smooth scrolling?
not sure, FS-UAE seems to but mabye an area I can explore
Just noticed that you swapped the theme for the Intuition/screen but forgot the MUI settings/preset for them. You'll find them under the "Settings"-dropdown for each theme that have them enabled. That's why the theme might look "broken" as you put it. noticed that your fonts was blending in with the widget backgrounds and was hard to read at around 6:15 in your video. Change the preset and I think it will be easer to read =)

Interesting but power pc macs are starting to become so old you may as well start using an amiga. from the early 90s or 80s because they are both obsolete.
Genesis EFfikas are no longer available.
I’ve still got classic Amigas and no emulation can beat them however I do have an old Mac g5 which I’m tempted to install MorphOS on.
