    I cannot get my iPad to work with any controller. I’ve tried an mpk mini and a NI A61. Says it requires too much power. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    • @mstk8845
      @mstk8845 Před rokem

      Some of the akai controllers require you to turn on the controller in a special way to have a lower power mode for lightning jack iPads. Other controllers may require you to use an apple or compatible usb adapter that can also charge the device. Connecting a battery pack to that adapter can also work. Some other people is a powered usb hub. I use the apple USB3 adapter and plug into the wall socket when using my keylab 37. Another option is to check the specs on the power drawn by the midi controller. I would think anything using less than maybe 800-500 mA might work without plugging the iPad into power. My guess is the usb c iPads can send enough power to a controller.

    You can see many keyboards having a lot of controls and then this having just 8 encoders but then I got a M32 and is beautiful, is the small version but same controls, I got this because I already had a M-Audio Keysteation61es, but I'm thinking now to get the A61, the combo pedal input is perfect! you can put a normal sustain pedal or an expresion pedal or even a combo 2-pedal and assing any CC to that! I really wanted a controller having Sustain and Sostenuto pedal.
    But true, a pianist need the full size semi-weighted keys as minimun. Is not only hard to me press the mini keys but to control the dinamics too, the synth action is too soft at the start while on the another is more hard to hit the keys at the begin so you know you have to hit really hard to get the max. Is not easy to get used again.

    Thanks for sharing the video. I was wondering if it would be possible to connect the keyboard to an ipad. I'm considering buying the A61 or A49 to that purpose. :)

    • @MACROMARVIN
      @MACROMARVIN  Před 4 lety +1

      Definitely, that’s exactly what I did in this video. You’ll need the usb to lightning adapter. It will receive power from the device so make sure you have it charged. There’s some cheap options on amazon if you don’t want it get the official apple adapter.

      Yeah that’s the primary function, being to use it on tablets and stuff is a bonus. I have used in my laptop and connected an interface for my guitar. Have also used on tablet with the interface. Just be sure your device is compatible they have been making software updates that screwed up some of the tablets.

      Hi thanks for watching! Yes whenever you connect these midi style keyboards to a computer you can plug in headphones to contain the sound. Just keep in mind that if you use any wireless headphones the sound can get delayed so you’ll want it to be wired

      Thanks for watching. Keep in mind that this is a midi keyboard that needs to be linked to an iPad or directly to a computer. It doesn’t have any sound coming out of it. It would be through the device you are using it on that you’d need headphones or studio monitors. This are just interfaces to play with multiple sounds and instruments.

      Honestly, I’m not an expert. I’m use to playing an actual piano and I although it’s not comparable I’d say it’s pretty good. It’s not the best but for the price plus the ability to modify volume on music passages with Logic Pro it’s not a bad option. Would just depend on much time you’re willing to put into adjusting does passages.

    Hello Marvin, thanks for sharing! Does your iPadPro have USB-C or a lightning connection? I have the same keyboard, but when I connect it to my iPadPro 2017 with lightning connection it says that Native Komplete Kontrol A49 requires too much USB power and just don't work (even though my iPadPro is fully charged). It's nice to see yours working flawlessly, though!

      1. Try plugging the adapter and cable in first then connect to the keyboard
      2. Try a non powered hub
      3 try a powered hub
      4. Try the USB 3 camera kit
