The Merc Ute is just a rebadged Nissan Navara with a nice interior aka bit off a ripoff, the Amarok is a far nice ride imo.
I work in Luton and you're right about not showing any cameras or items in the Car of value.
Some thieves are so brazen they would break into your car in daylight just to steal a £40 dash cam.

a bit late to the party but the amarok doesnt have a dsg gearbox in it 🤣, its a zf 8hp gearbox, the exact same one that comes out in pretty much every bmw nowadays and many other cars too. best gearbox ever designed and built.

Genuinely upsets me how fast the 3.0 V6 260hp Amaroks are, 0-60 in 7.4 seconds is not a joke for a piece of your toolkit

I've had a bad experience from an amorak. I had ten pints and home, got a taxi home. Woke up in morning still pissed drove to work and crashed it. Wrote it off around a tree. I'll never buy one again

I've heard that the DSG is very bad for towing and it could break very fast if you use the truck for what it's meant for, like offroading and heavy loads

Can I just say if its a classic car you should buy on conditiond and recent money spent/ history on the vehicle rather then mileage. garage queens can be some of the roughest running cars out there .

Well maintained yes regular oil changes and not running them on empty.
I use to sell these cars for living the engine has been designed by Scania and it's not tge same as Golf engine and the gearbox is a 8 speed normal ZF gearbox not a DSG.
Gotta 2013 4 banger Amarok down here in Aus, about to hit 300,000 miles….still runs like a clock…
The Mercedes X-class is just a Nissan Navara.but the Amarok is the best all rounder
Funny you say that....I just bought a V6 highline and the similarities to my mates old Nissan Navara ST-X 550 would make you wonder if there isn’t something going on there. Both a 550. Both a V6 3.0 turbo diesel. Both have EXACTLY the same dual climate control knobs and display, same USB setup under the stereo system, etc etc. very similar. They have their differences for sure. But so do the BT-50 and the Ranger.
If it wasn’t for the 8 speed auto I’d think it was pretty much the Navara ST-X 550
It is a Navara mate, uses the same chassis. Mercedes collaborate with a lot of brands these days. Aston use Mercedes engine, Mercedes use the Navara, and the Infiniti QX30 (a Nissan brand) is based on the Mercedes GLA @@johnrichardson8048

I don’t even try to bother advertising my cars when I sell them just because I can’t imagine a lot of people having 15k laying around to buy a car therefore needing a garage for HP/PCP

Nice motor! DSG needs an oil change every 40k. Would imagine the old owner will not have done this at 120k knowing that he was about to sell it.

If it’s a zf then 100k oil changes are advised so that’s probably overdue
The mileage doesn't show when the vehicle is moving in a VW. It is replaced by the digital KPH speed indicator.
I'll be honest with you I normally skip every ad at the start of video's, however I'll make an effort to watch them through for you mate. Top work as always, you make great video's and seem like a good honest guy.
Once i've finished university i'll be fulfilling my business plan of creating an American Truck Importing (will later branch off to other American cars as well) business. American trucks would be awesome to have no matter how impractical they are for our roads :)
Should be an easy sale mate, since VW went and fitted the 3.0L V6 to all the new amaroks they are now silly money. I went and priced one up and it was a £40k motor in the end, ended up with a NP300 and love it.
What more could you want? Well, I've got one a BiTdi 180bhp, and at about 70mph it lacks a bit of grunt. Had a remap done to it, which adds 25bhp and 40NM. Not a huge amount, but makes it so much more flexible. My local guy did if for under £200 which was well worth it.

@@nevaloseheart No not really, just that 180bhp in a vehicle weighing 1870kg isn't a huge amount. It missed a bit of mid-range punch especially at m'way speeds. It doesn't make it a speedster, just gives that extra little bit of acceleration (very helpful with overtaking) and also getting off the line a bit quicker. £200 well spent. I got mine 2nd hand just as the V6 was being released, but it does me well as I've got a Golf R as well. If you realise that it is never going to break any speed records, it cruises really well, but Stage 1 is definitely worth doing.

@@nevaloseheart Ummm. Its something I don't look at too often. Its slightly less crap than it was before but not a significant improvement.
Izuzu D-max is my favorite truck in this segment. Nothing beats the Ram 1500 but thats another level of truck ;)
In the US not sure why but VW’s reputation is nothing like it is in Europe. My son sold Mazda’s in Dallas Texas and he said they hated to see VW owners pull on the lot because the the value of their car had fallen so much.My theory is most of out VW’s are produced in Mexico, not the same quality of German VW’s.

Do rate these motors, thats a nice example! From my personal view, miles dont matter in diesels these days, but like u say it does make a difference on price. Think you should get your hand on a merc x class 🤔

Its easy in the U.K to sell cars as you have the population, In Ireland its a lot harder cause theres not the population so you basically have to sell everything you can.
These 2.0ltr Amarock can't pull the skin of a rice pudding, they are next to useless for towing if it has a tow bar on it Calvin take it off.

Mileage does not seem too bad for 2012 - say 17K per anuum. Especially if Dealer serviced since new
Calvin's Car Diary I bought a high mileage Passat several years ago, high spec high miles FSH, low price 6 years old. The issue I had was that lots of mechanical work was needed on a regular basis (shocks, brakes, fuel pump etc) and that has put me off this type of car ever since. And vw seemed expensive to fix compared to other brands. Do you think I was particularly unlucky or is this just to be expected? Love the content keep it up, desperate for a naffco hoodie but £50 is too steep! much love 🙌

Thr amarok has no rear curtain airbags, it has been a major safety issue from day one of release and they still decide to turn out 4x4s under the safety PAR.
It's hardly a major safety issue of you can drive around in a Polo with rear airbags 🤔😂
