First officer Chris private video and he probably gave access to Flightchops early
+First officer Chris Patreons my dude! :D
Cameron Tatchell ok
KoeddkHD ok
thanks for video, love Puerto Rico, I'm 82 years old. Worked in aviation from 1953 until 2002. Thanks for getting to share your flights and your love for aviation. Lots of memories from Puerto Rico. I have lived in Nicaragua past 15 years.
What did you do?
Nice Stevo!!!! That was me on the radio saying "Welcome to PR Stevo" My son and I had a great time meeting you. Nice to see you enjoy your time here.
Hopefully you can come again... and Maybe we can go flying in my C172, I have another airport that you will find interesting (TJCP).
Blue skies my friend!!!
So awesome!
That shoutout was really cool.
I seriously thought that was "Welcome to PR Gringo!"
Thanks FlightChops....
Mike I would never call that to a fellow American..... I guess is the Multi-language accent :)
By the way my Cessna Made it on the Video!!!!
I was deployed to this NAS in 1967 while in the Navy stationed at NAS Cecil field with VA 174. We brought our brand new A7 Corsairs for some air to air training. It was nicknamed "Rosie Roads" . Beautiful country to visit. I was an aircraft electrician 2nd class.
Hi Steve, Its a Naval Station. I was stationed there for 4 years. Loved it. It is where I did my first solo cross country to Ponce and back. I have made that approach to Rny 7 many times. It was so cool to see it again!!! Thanks!!
Barry Harris - Hi Barry, I did a short flight from Ramey AFB, to Ponce, when I was stationed there in '66. Great scenery!
Another great episode! Always look forward to your vids!
I’m not a pilot but I love flying on line with Steve! I’d love to sit in that cockpit with him! It’s on my bucket list!
Thank you for bringing us along Steveo
Steve, you have the absolutely best videos...informative and entertaining.
Jon Wagner I agree.
Steveo Great episode! You landed at former Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, I was the last Weapons Officer for the base. Beautiful footage of my Puerto Rico and of the surroundings of El Conquistador, Fajardo. Hope you Liked the rainforest, Luquillo. "La Isla del Encanto"!
Great job! Thanx Steveo for showing the best of our island! And in the name of the GA community hope to see you again, Puerto Rico is your house!
Another good one! Thanks for the scenic view. Happy blue skies
That was super awesome!! I used to live in Puerto Rico my whole life. I took my private pilot license in TJPS. And did x country all over PR . I enjoyed this video a lot . I live in Orlando , FL for 4 years now. Your video made me feel like I was next to you flying to my Island PR. Always dreamed on doing a GA flight there from FL .Great Job Steveo!!!
You and all the other aviation youtubers really help keep me motivated! It's hard to switch careers at 30, but being happy in the long run is what's important!
Getting that newspaper, coffee, ice and GPU.As much as I love florida and Georgia it was nice flying somewhere else and that atc shout out was great. RIP Jason
Flying vicariously with Stevo.
Thanks bro
Stevo:I'm not the type to leave comments on line, but I always watch your videos. I had to make it a point to leave you a message on this video. I am 42 years old, quit a very successful career to fly train full time and happen to be on check ride prep for my instrument training as of the time of this writting. I am from the Dominican Republic, and ran into this video as I was holding my daughter (while I was on the comode - a little comedy here) and it brought tears to my eyes. I would LOVE to fly an approach on that neck of the woods - one of my dreams as a pilot. Great job buddy and keep'em comming. Skyhawk N123AB HEAVY.
Another great video. I did a little research after you said it was an old military base, turns out that airport is the former Roosevelt Roads Naval Station airstrip. Lots of P2V Neptunes operated out of there during the Cold War. See you on the next flight steveo.
Awesome video!!! Thanks for the ride!!!
Awesome video Steveo!
I love the cop girl! Love PR!. Thank you.
Eh Steveo, Really have enjoyed your videos. I'm a newcomer to your channel and will be watching most of your previous videos in the coming days. Keep up the good work.
Douglas Mast i second that 🙌
You kick ass Steveo!! Love flying with you!
Wow, thanks for the ride Steveo, nice.
My fam lives at the mountains, right next to the runway that was nice to see when u passed
PUERTOOOOOO RICOOO🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 MY BEAUTIFUL ISLAND
I used to fly DC-3s, Convairs, Tri-Islander, C-40 all over those mountains in PR and the Caribbean. It is really beautiful and sometimes challenging. Cute ending!
Awesome flight Steveo1kinevo
Steveo it was a pleasure to have met you there at Ceiba (TJRV). I was the one that flew down there on the Piper Seminole. Great video! And come back sometime, it looks like you had a blast!
+Raul Marquez it was nice to meet you Raul! Thanks for coming down to say hi.
Thank you Steveo, for flying and showing my Birth Island tears came to my eyes.,,,, I hpe your viewers can visit and enjoying their visit, we need to promote tourism due to the economic breakdown caused by crooked politicians. Rewards from Hallandale, FL
Great flight, great memories. Wife and I flew from this airport to Viequez, that island 7 miles off the cost from this airport, a couple of years ago. My first ride in a Caravan, the pilot let me sit right seat, had a ball. Thank you!
How good is this - awesome work mate. Loving these vids. You talked us all the way through that flight and then gave us that great montage at the end. One of your favorite flights and one of my favorite vids of yours. Keep up the great work.
bro you are such a pro! Keep flying safe and giving us your amazing trips! we really enjoy! ;-)
Sorry to hear about your friend Stevo .. ? What did the NTSB say as the cause of that old plane caused it ?
Your videos inspire me to fly more. Thank you for all these. I had a really big fear of the radio because I sucked at it. These videos help me more than you will ever know. Thank you. Again my condolences.

This was not just another flying video - it really captures the fun and adventure of being a pilot. Superb ending! Love the approach shots of mountains, windmills, beaches and palm trees. The drone stuff of the Cat and near the hotel was outstanding.
Enjoy every video you post. Thank you.
That is the former NAS Roosevelt Roads, where I spent three weeks on a deployment with VMA 332 in the 80s. Flew a C-172 to St. Thomas and St.Croix. We flew in from NAS South Weymouth, MA in C-9s. and flew back. The booze was so cheap I bought a foot locker to put it all in.
Richard Churchill spent a few weeks there myself with VFA-15 back in '88
Richard Churchill Rosie Roads. A name I haven't heard in a long long time. Navy March 77 to 81.
Retired Navy here. Spent lots of time at the pier at Rosey Roads. Never had an opportunity to fly there though.
Richard Churchill wasn't 332 in 2ND MAW....I was in H&MS14 back in early 70's...been so long ago not sure if my memory is correct.
Richard Churchill I live not a mile from what's left of NAS South Weymouth, pretty cool to hear from someone who spent some time there
At 13:24 when he said the ETA is 55 minutes and asked what that meant, I said out loud "COFFEE TIME!" like a big dork with a big smile on my face...I think I got too much into the video...perhaps.
I did the same thing! And poured myself another coffee, at 3 in the afternoon, haha. Love these videos!
Good Stuff! I don't know why I never thought of doing something like that when I was flying
Love the vid Steveo!
Great channel Steven! I'm a brand new subscriber. I was a commercial pilot working as a co-pilot for less than 2 months, back in 2001. Broke my neck in a motorcycle accident and ended up with extensive nerve damage. Lost my flight physical. There are quite a few channels out there where pilots will bring a GoPro onboard, but so far none as good as you. I'm betting the editing process is quite a bear at times! But you do an excellent job of not only the edit, but also the whole process of modern commercial flying. Thank you for taking us along. It's amazing how much has changed even in the 15+ years I've been out of the game. Again, thanks for doing such a great job, and bringing the whole CZcams world along with you!!
Wow, a similar situation here, was a commercial pilot flying small turbines at the end when I was walking to my elderly aunts house one evening, got hit by a car which took off, left me with a broken neck, a broken back, and a host of other problems, and lost my medical, am now going blind too, but it's been just 2 1/2 yrs. since I've been in the air, and I miss it so badly it hurts, but these videos at least let me get up in the cockpit again!
The police officer at end of video has my same last name...👍👍
Great video Steve thanks for sharing your adventures.
STEVO! THE CORRECT PRONUNCIATION IS
SAY - BAH!
love the video looks like a nice country will hane to visit !!!!
That foreign country is the USA - but I know what you mean, just being a wise ass.
it is a country
Technically Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth and belongs to the United States of America. Puerto Ricans are American citizens and they even have representation in congress (the House, not the Senate). Name another independent country where that is the case?
Barry McBride Come down here and visit us! It's a flyers heaven. Airports all over the island. Muñoz Marín Int'l and the smaller Rivas Dominicci Executive airport, both in SJ; Mayaguez Regional (west coast); Rafael Hernández Regional (northwest, used to be Ramey AFB), and Ponce Regional in the south; just to mention a few examples. And then, you can fly to the islands of Vieques and/or Culebras, not too far from Ceiba. You also have the USVI very close to the east coast of PR. You will not regret it.
@@jayzenitram9621 Guam.
beautiful place !! thanks for share S. !!
I will love to see who are the haters hitting dislike to your videos. You doing a great job, and you are giving motivation to all of us want to be pilots
Great episode, I'm from PR and a pilot myself, the runway you landed is called Roosvelt Roads and was a very active Navy base, including ships and submarine operations. They supported the Vieques Island target practice as well as other activities.
Runways have names?
Hey Steveo, been watching your videos for just over a month now and they're all marvellous! I was wondering if you could possibly talk about being a pilot with a little more details, whenever you have a long flight. I'd love to hear from you about what potential new pilots could do with their PPL (can they make decent income out of it) or do we have to have our COMMERCIAL pilot licence after PPL? Potential costs, potential income rate etc... That'd be awfully kind of you, if you could shoot a video about these all Steveo...
Kindest Greetings from England - Bournemouth U.K.
Ziya :)
I'm not sure if the same applies in the US. In Australia you must not fly for revenue on a PPL. That means no being paid to fly an empty aircraft, transport passengers or derive any income from flying.
You are however allowed to share the operational costs of flying an aircraft with friends and family.
It is strictly personal flying. If you wish to do otherwise, commercial license.
Thanks ever so much Adrian!
Hey ziya1only, as a student at ATP that has a PPL, with an Instrument on the way, soon to be on the commercial phase, I just wanted to answer your question about what you can do with that PPL. So as Adrian has said below, you cannot fly for revenue. According to FARs, you cannot fly more than pro-rata share of the cost of the aircraft and associated fees. For example, you and your co-worker fly in a Cessna 172, if the aircraft total cost was $360 for your two hour flight, your co-worker can pay you no more than $180. So if you fly with 4 people, and we take the same $360 total, you divide the total number by 4, and they each pay you that, and no more. You can explore the country, but you must plan carefully to stay out of IMC (instrument meteorologic conditions), or else you will be in some deep trouble, not just with the FAA. You are only limited to a VFR flight, so you must fly strictly by visual references (Nav log), not just a GPS.
Your best bet is getting your Private and follow that up with your Instrument certification, then work on the Commercial license. Your best bet is to go for your R-ATP/ATP as that will lead to a brighter since airlines require that. You have a few options on getting all your certifications; you could pay out of pocket and do it a little at a time, slowly building hours. The route I took is going to a dedicated flight school (I chose ATP, but there are others like Aerosim, US Aviation Academy, etc), which you can also pay out of pocket if you have the money, or take out a student loan (which is how most do this). This is an expensive career to get into, but you will make it back and more. It is said the careers/professions that require a high amount of investment, financial and time, are often the most rewarding in time. The money is only a small part of the reward. Look at his view every time Steveo steps into his office, it does't get any better than that!
Good Luck with your future endeavors and let me know if you have any questions. I will be glad to help!
Wonderful video Steve, love it!
Awesome video!! I love the feeling you create that we're sitting right there in the right seat with you.
Hi Steveo, I always wondered, are most of your videos the actual duration of the flight? Do the same border rules apply to Hawaii? Nevertheless, always enjoy watching your vlogs! :)
sweet police officers in puerto rico ;-)
Thank you Steveo for making me want to learn to fly. i always wanted to do it but finances/time was not available but after watching your videos you just seem so calm and relaxed don't think ive seen a video where you have had difficulties apart from the storms. enjoy the videos man keep it up
love your work...been a fan for just over a year and you just keep getting better and better.
Thanks for the vid. What work do you do that takes you to these places? Was this a cargo run?
This is a corporate plane that is used to fly the execs around as needed. He is hired by the company to fly and manage the plane.
Pls do an episode or send me a message explaining what happened to ur friends airplane I am really interested. what made it come apart??
metroliners had serious problems.
I believe this is the NTSB report below.
aerossurance.com/air-accidents-incidents/ntsb-pr-sa227-metro-iii-loc-i/
We just had a Cessna 414 crash. I was surprised to see how many 414s have crashed. Speculation on over speed or a wing break up causing the crash.
Another amazing video Stevo!
Great video Steveo, really enjoy your videos!
Does Steveo fly with passengers while making videos? As in back seat passengers rather than right seat.
Yes he does but the company doesn't want their execs and staff in the videos.
I live just east in St. Thomas
The Caribbean Aviator lucky😠 lol
Timothy Hunt lol
My wife and I visited St. Thomas and I am totally in love if I ever hit the lottery I am moving there.
Haha I'm glad you enjoyed it here. You should come back for a vacation.
It's the laid back lifestyle that I love.
I loved it also especially truck bay and I can't get back there fast enough. Apparently I came during the rainy season because it rained everyday but one out of five that was kinda depressing but that comes with the island life. We stayed in red hook.
My favorite video so far. As I hope to do the same flight some day back to where I grew up. Thanks for sharing Steveo and please let your boss know how grateful we are that he lets you film and share these vids.
Great to see someone enjoying our Island, thanks for the great video, I see you met our friend Eric and the Traveler's crew 😊👍🏼 hope you come back to PR, as Caribbean Flyer said many cool airports and many more beaches to visit 😊
it came apart? thats really vague, what do you mean?
@@michiganskinny2033 thanks
4:20 I speak spanish and I dont even know what they're saying ....
Awesome video! The views were amazing!
Great vid Steveo, always enjoy.
Are you flying a client around?? I'm assuming you're not flying empty just to make a CZcams video...just curious?
This is a corporate owned plane. He is hired to fly their execs around as needed.
B-Man 123 He said in a different comment that his boss was in the plane but doesn't like to be filmed
Most airlines require like 500+ hrs on their main aicraft, however, how could you get that time on that aircraft w/ multi-crew if you don't work for an airline. Let's take Norweigen, they require 1500hrs on a B738/7 to become a first officer. How are you supposed to get them hours if you have never worked for an airline?
there are several airlines that do type ratings and train to hire. delta is for sure one of them.
You don't need 1500 hours on a type of aircraft. You need 1500 hours of total flying time to be eligible to apply for the airline with a commercial certificate here in the USA.
Great video, as always, and congratulations on 100K subscribers.
Keep 'em coming.......................................
Awesome film SteveO. Love your channel keep it up.
Thanks for the ride Stevo, I really enjoy your videos.👍🇺🇸
Steveo, thanks for the fly along - you always make it look easy and with good information.
I was in Florida exactly 2 years ago doing my hour building in a PA28 up in Sebastian. My most memorable flight was into Opa Locka to pick up a friend who came to visit. I look forward to returning to Florida to do some more flying but hopefully can rent a twin next time. Your videos are awesome and remind me of what a great time I had. Thanks from England!
Love PR and the people. Prayers for their recovery.
Thanks for your wishes.
Great vid! Keep em coming SteveO
Great video Steve - as always!
Awesome video! love watching your videos!
Condolences on the loss of your friend, Steve-O. Great video, thanks for the effort as always.
Steveo you bring back so many good memories for me! Flight trained out of PBI and hit all the same airports you do on a regular basis.
Great video Stevo ! We've been going through withdrawals with no new videos from you. Loved the nice cloud formations on this trip. No doubt, you have the best views of any of us. Thanks for the ride !!
Really enjoyed the tropical scenery, people shots and drone footage in this one! Thanks for taking us along. Hope the hike was nice. This video has convinced me that I need to visit PR.
