I remember seeing this on TV late at night! If I'm not mistaken it was also the first time seeing the Spice Girls. They were so fresh at the time and I remember thinking they were going to be big, but I didn't anticipate them being a global phenomenon! I'm glad I got to witness their meteoric rise during a time when the internet, smartphones and social media didn't really exist.

Most people consumed Spice Girls content through traditional media such as TV, radio and magazines. However, it’s great that you got to check out their websites - you’re one of the lucky few who had internet at home back then haha
@@raisa_cherry33 you were the lucky few if you had internet at home back in the mid-90s! They didn't have a website (from what I remember), but they were everywhere on traditional media. Most artists promoted their music on tv, magazines, radio, etc. It's the main way to get exposure vs nowadays where you can reach millions in an instant via social media. Arguably, it was a lot harder for musicians to reach overnight success without a massive record label backing you, and I'd argue that the Spice Girls were a marketing dream. Their music was infectious, and they were like no other at the time when Indie bands were dominating the charts. Also, they had strong message of empowerment of "Girl Power", which resonated with a lot people. All this to say, they're pretty special as group and that's why people love them!
Victoria was always my favorite Spice and I always thought it's sad she only sings the chorus choir along with the other girls and have no solo part in the biggest Spice Girls hit.

The fact that Jason John went from big fun, to managing the spice girls is a huge win. Still wish we got more albums from big fun though, big fun was really doing something different from what everyone else was doing at the time, or ever, and it was really the best. Spice Girls are good too, but big fun was legendary fun!

It must have been challenging to perform this live, as it sounds exactly like the studio version.
They have a back-track vocal playing during the chorus to fill out the sound more and to add in some of the ad-lib lines.
