toji was once toji zenin, he would kill all kinda of things for the zenin clan, until he met megumis mother which he then left the clan changing his name to toji Fushiguro to spite the zenin clan, he then had megumi, megumis mother passed away. he then soled megumi to the zenin clan knowing he would become a strong sorcerer (according to google on that last part) he then became the bounty hunter as we know him.
