This song opened Europe to the reception of other Rock and Roll songs, and they came over Europe fast and furious, like a flood! Luckily I was a young teenager and lived through this beautiful period of my Life. THANKS, HEAVEN I didn't miss it! Thanks God, Amen!
I am here because of my father- he passed away in september - as a young man in college in india he absorbed and took in american culture and talked about going to see blackboard jungle at the movies and hearing rock around the clock for the first time - now that he’s gone i’ll never be able to listen to rock around the clock without thinking of him ❤️
I grew up listening to this song along with tons of mid to late 1950’s songs at my grandparents house ever since I was a toddler. Sadly my grandfather is no longer alive, he passed away back in September unexpectedly to a stroke, but he introduced me to some great catchy timeless tunes. :’)

Even the music I cannot stand at all I can still appreciate, because I may not like it, but someone else does, and that means they enjoy music. Just like Rush taught me, "all this machinery making modern music can still be open hearted"

25, and a lot of these songs bring back memories of my grandparents. My last living grandmother passed this year and I have so many flashbacks hearing these songs while spending most of my childhood with her. ❤️

"Rock Around The Clock" reaching Nr.1 on both the Billboard and Cashbox Charts! The Age of the Teenager had officially begun on a worldwide scale with Bill Haley & His Comets
10-year-long reply, so sorry... but it's not the first rock n roll song... in fact, nobody is 100% sure what that even is! It's the first to go so popular that it changes all of popular music forever, making it one of the most important songs of the 20th century; but it's not the FIRST one ever. It's pretty much the first one that mattered to that generation.
This was the song that started it Rock and Roll for most people of my generation. It was in a film called BLACKBOARD JUNGLE and all us teenagers then could not get enough of it. Still one of the best songs to dance too . Even at my age . Bill Haley’s best. Get your partner up now. Put the music on loud . If you can borrow a pair of your Dads crepe sole shoes. Now go for it and enjoy.
This song was playing on an oldies station when I was spending an afternoon with my grandma. I was about 16 at the time, and something of a silly SJW at the time (though it was 1988 or so), and so I was indifferent to 50's music (and rolled my eyes at what I perceived as 'too wholesome' at the time). My grandma abruptly got up and said, "This is how your mom and I used to dance back in the day." And after she'd danced the song away and the drum bit ended it, she smiled and made a sweeping gesture like, 'And there you have it.' It was so uncharacteristic of her, as stuffy as she could be in general, that I never forgot it. We bonded better after I grew up and got over my teenage mentality. I miss her. That was one of my best 'grandma memories', especially when I hear the song. I wish I could have told her how much fun she could be when she let her hair down a bit, and how much I appreciated the things she did teach me and share with me. And I would ask her to share stories about her life in the 50's too.

How can a 65 year old song sound so fresh?
Remastering
Quality recording and remastering, and having a crapton of energy put into it in the first place
Because it's Bill Haley fool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Because unlike today's CRAP, it's REAL music. The remastering helps too.
