Sounds like we need to cover the story of Superman vs Kingdom Come Superman from JSA.
Hypocrites in DC superman and batman they always go" we have to stop (insert badguy) by any means"
In this comic they are like we CANT let Darkseid get the info he wants....then when Darkseid is about to get what he wants and no one can stop him and so a hero stops him. Then superman and batman get all pissed and such. Sorry he's a hero cause if Darkseid got what he wanted, Darkseid would have ruined everyone.
Wasn’t there a story where Atlas was thrashing Superman and KC Supes just dumped him back into the micro verse?

@6666 Given the position here, there were more heroes coming in. David could've chosen to stall. He is fairly capable when he wants to be. But the issue is that he got afraid and then hid. Other heroes ran in knowing they couldn't stop him. But they understood they needed to stall for time. The story proved that all that time, he had been playing pretend hero. He wasn't willing to own up to his mistakes or sacrifice himself. This isn't DC being hypocritical. This is them showing the difference between a hero and someone who is not. A hero will take often the hard road seldom walked and sacrifice themselves at the drop of a hat for someone innocent. That's why you can look at Iron Man and see him as a hero with all the poor choices and mistakes he's made. It would be easy for the Justice League to "do what it takes" to regin in crime. But that also has consequences, like removing people's free will and choice.
Just thinking about it, but there might've also been a way for him to take Apocolypse away with him to another place in the multiverse.
I feel like Darkseid and Superman's entire relationship can be boiled down to "Oh, you thought the last time we fought was me at full power? Fool, I was holding back the entire time. Now you face me at my full strength." Just that quote, rephrased to fit each character on repeat forever.

I love how Darkseid was written here. It's been a minute since he's felt like a genuine cold threat by presence alone, rather than being an angry brawler. Just added in Michael Ironside's voice in my head, and I was good to go.

@@garou12 isn't he the person that did Darkseid in The Super friends? That was well before my time, but from what I can remember from watching reruns on Boomerang as a kid in the 2000s, I was not impressed.
Edit: Just looked up his scenes. Frank lacks the subtle eloquence and threatening tone of Michael Ironside. Ironside just has a smoother voice, befitting a God king. Honestly, Frank's Darkseid sounds more like a chainsmoker in need of a lozenge.
Michael Ironside's DS was legendary, but Andre Brauer's voice is who pops up for me in this comic, or ACEVANE's DS may be more appropriate given the beatdown he handed out.

The Kingdom Come Dick Grayson became Red Robin I think. He and Starfire had a daughter. In the Earth-2 continuity Bruce cleans up Gotham, retires, marries Selena Kyle, has a daughter, becomes Police Commissioner. Dick Grayson basically keeps the Robin identity into adulthood.
Even Earth 2 Dick does become Batman for a bit. And then his son with Barbara becomes Helena's Robin.

You got it wrong, Kingdom come superman was MORE powerful then the canon Superman due to being older and having been in the sun longer. This was established multiple times during comics.

I think killing Gog was the only way to keep Darksyde from getting the anti-life equation. The other superheroes berating the guy forget their free will would have been taken otherwise. No future to say "I told you so".
That wasn't anyone's call to make. They aren't executioners , reinforcements were coming and would've opened up a different path than the one Magog chose, but he was too shortsighted
@@siyasithole7995 In theory, I agree with that, but I think that’s definitely the weakest aspect of this story- the other heroes were on their way, but Darkseid already beat _two_ Supermen just by looking at them, and wasted Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, two Batmen, and the Flash with little more effort. What were the other heroes going to do at that point besides get roflstomped, too? The story contrived David to only having *_one_* option, which was killing Gog to stop an obviously OP Darkseid from getting the Anti-Life Equation and subjugating all of existence, and then had the other heroes gang up on him in a moral outrage for taking “the easy way out.”
A better way to do this would have been to not have Darkseid show up at all, and have David betray and blast Gog in the back, killing him in a dirty way, thinking he was doing the right thing because the heroes - while able to put up a good fight - appeared to be failing to stop Gog because they were pulling their punches, or letting their code get in the way of stopping a universe-ending threat, even though we know that these guys should have been able to take Darkseid, if push came to shove.
As it is, I’m not siding with the heroes, here. The story made Darkseid look unbeatable, David make a clutch choice, everyone yell at him, and then he gets petulant and indignant, rather than accept that he took someone’s life, but only did so because there were no other options.

Like, they never tried to imprison him on Jipiter or something? Phantom Zone? Shrink him down and leave him in a model world in the fortress of solitude where he can't escape? Nothing? Joker is a whole threat to the DC world.

I remember when I was a teenager I use to read Wizard magazine and every issue they had artist from the comic industry to create artwork for their cover. One of the best cover was the introduction to Kingdom Come on their cover painted by Alex Ross.
That Mora art is just so sic, this is a comic that makes my eyes happy.

DC was pretty aware on how to use Gog and Magog along with the end of the world with the coming of Darkseid and an unfortunate war that killed every faction. this darkseid reminded me of Original RE3 Nemesis, just tanked physical punches and pretty much pimp slapped everyone away, minus the angry obsession to kill specific targets, this Darkseid was pretty cool, he came in, he left very calculated and the fact he left makes it sound like he could come back at any time to kill everyone

He wants to kill, then he should be prepared for the hero community to turn their back on him because he's no longer a hero , he's a weapon

Batman not killing joker has led to numerous people dying. Same with Superman and Lex Luthor. I’m pretty sure Wonder Woman kills regularly too. I get the premise but certain villains need to be put down. The hero’s don’t have to be on a killing spree like the punisher but at the very least certain scenarios are required

What? How is david the bad guy here, logically it makes sense to kill Gog. The Kingdom Come Universe is screwed regardless since Darkseid had already took interest in that reality due to the anti life. This is stupid. Why is David getting flack for saving everyone, it's completely out of character... For Superman and everyone to hold bitter judgement for making a sacrifice, granted David was too over zealous about his actions, that shouldn't make him any more of a bad guy due to the deeds.
This series has been amazing! DC has been just dumping on Darkseid for so long now. Being my favorite DC character, i was so happy to see Waid give him his due justice here. Epic dialogue and presence as it should be with Darkseid.
Haven't enjoyed a story with Darkseid this much since Geoff Jones Darkseid Wars. Love the work Mark Waid and Dan Mora put into this amazing run.
Superman has always had a physical edge over Darkseid. Don't change anything or try to amp Darkseid and weaken Superman.
This is every writer now, superman gets beaten up by all the vilians, then you'll hear he is holding back 😂. They should literally call him HOLDBACK MAN , change his crest from S to H because there's no point anymore.
@@gagzman1It has become a disturbing pattern by DC. Batman and WW are not on Superman's level. I really wanted to see Superman beat the hell out of Rogol Zaar, but Superman could barely hurt him. The same with Atlas. The last good beating is when Superman fought Wraith which was an excellent story. Superman fights him in the Earth's core. DC continues to Amp everyone's power. Not good!

Darkseid is and always will be THE biggest badass in all of comics.
Nothing in any of DC or MARVEL universes can come close.
Darkeseid is the ultimate villian without caring to be. He just knows everywhere he goes hes untouchable.

It honestly sounds like the original version or even the idea of Injustice at least to me, props to your vid, i mean the explanation behind the kingdom come universe.
That's a pretty interesting Iteration of the Kingdom Come storyline. Plus it also bring back the concept of Hypertime when characters remember certain plot points at times and not at other times.
It always WINDS ME UP how these so called Heroes just attack people without provocation or reason just because they think they are evil in some way. Its such a BS reason to create conflict. Batman even says does no one in this world use their brain? Or something to that effect.
David: "Hey see that guy? He is evil!"
