    Just going to say, when Tony Stewart first showed up in NASCAR, I hated his guts and everything about him. I was 18-19 when he was a rookie. After all these years and being older now (43) I can honestly say, I respect the hell out of Tony almost as much or even more than anyone else. One of the best things that ever happened to NASCAR. Tony was right about the Truck race. It was a complete clusterfuck with everyone clawing and eye gouging each other with 4 GWCs. Heim and Hocevar learned the hard way in the Championship 4. Can't throw away your title chances by wrecking each other out. SHR Xfinity teams were the only bright spots this year than their cup teammates enduring their worst season ever. Custer and Riley were there to win races all year with Custer winning the title outright.

    The parents fighting each other at go kart races was a thing 20 year ago too and definitely agree with Tony that that is where this problem originated. I'm 27 so I'm slightly older than the new generate of truck drivers, but even when I was in go-karts, it was a regular occurrence to see someone's dad get rejected from the track for code of conduct violation. I raced in the Stars of Karting series, which was a world wide racing league and Santino Ferruci's dad was rejected from every race one year and you would see him standing around outside of each track having to call in to the team to find out what was going on.

      @michaelreynolds3229 There's always been life! What Tony did was, of course, marry Leah, who keeps him on his toes, and buy two teams from Don Schumacher. Shoe wanted to get out of the team owning business and focus on his many manufacturing businesses. For whatever reason his daughter Megan, who had been groomed to take over the race teams, bowed out.
      Tony got a few more eyes on the Sportsman series, with him racing the A/Fuel car, so there's that. He was giving Julie Nataas a run for the money until the magnito incident. She and Tony had been swapping the points lead back and forth.

      It's a fine line. NASCAR watches intentional stuff and paybacks, which can get you suspended for a race or two, but most of it is subjective. Don't want it to turn into Formula One.
      That said, I agree with you that SOMETHING needs to be done.

  • @dcaseng
    @dcaseng Před 10 měsíci +3

    This is LONG overdue.
    More people need to speak up about what has been going on in Nascar throughout the past decade. These kids are barely out of diapers, and they are being given too much undeserved opportunities that are coming way too quickly. They all race like it's a video game because they grew up on IRacing, and have no respect for their competitors, or even their own teams that have to foot the bill for the repair costs.
    Nascar also promotes entertainment over sport, creating more restarts and packages that keep everyone bunched together. There are no enforcers in the garage, and the average age of drivers has dropped dramatically. I've never been a Stewart fan, but this is on point.
    This is why i said from day 1 that it was a huge mistake to get Hailie Deegan in the Truck series. I glad she is out and should have a better run in XFinity, where it's slightly better in terms of racing.

Now, the Truck Series is embarassing to watch and the majority of these drivers should be ARCA, the CARS Tour, Trans-Am, or another series to develope. In additions, these kids are getting moved up way to fast and it shows how they are running in the Xfinity Series. Keep up the good work Kenny.

I personally think the xfinity series is the best by far. The 4 speed, the 10inch width tires is traditional racing 🏁 the cup series doesn't do it for me, I hate change! You should too! Perhaps Nascar needs to revert back to motors that spin 9,000 plus xfinity series at least 700 hp sounds urgent! I'm violently allergic to restrictor plate racing.

      Well, Gene is half owner, so Tony MIGHT sell his part, but why? They are making money. There are plenty of leaders there to run the show. Gene has a Formula One team, two cars and drivers. You could field the entire Cup field for what those two cars cost to build and operate. They aren't even front runners, or mid-pack, most races.
      Tony is enjoying drag racing. Who wouldn't. There are people running that too. He's having fun racing himself.

      @@nomadman5288Carson just lost his head. The in-truck camera showed him banging on the wheel and having a hissy-fit. That's where he needed a championship caliber crew chief to calm him down and get his head back in the race. Heim intentionally wrecking him wouldn't have happened if he had kept his head in the game. That said NASCAR needs to do something with Heim.

    Ever since the early 2000's when nascar was at its hiegth, the Cup cars haven't handled good. Due to safety standards, they haven't been able to make a safe car handle good, since. Wrecks are dangerous but without old school, side by side racing, the racing is boring without crashes. Playoffs or not doesn't make a difference, with a good product on track. Different drivers don't matter with exciting racing.
