- Today we'll be taking a look at how to remove a credit card that managed to slip through the TINY opening for the E-Brake in our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited MOAB.

This happened at the drive thru today. Thanks for the video…it was a snap. I only had to loosen the bolts in the rear and got enough clearance to get my hand in and retrieve the credit card.

Glad I'm not the only one. This happened to me after getting fuel. I will try the 2 back bolts in the morning. I have small arms and hands so hopefully it will work out.

I took out the rear bolts but it doesn't lift up as in your video. It moves only a fraction of an inch. Am I doing anything wrong?
What tool did you use to un screw the back. I just dropped my ID card in the same spot 😥😩

I’ve been considering installing a universal e break leather boot into mine on my TJ. Just haven’t gotten around to measuring and figuring it out but it is a product that exists. been driving it 20 years and haven’t lost anything in there that I’m aware of but I know the day will come.

Dang dude!!! Bought my 2021 Gladiator Rubicon last week… went to pharmacy drive thru, they placed my ID in the bag with meds, and it fell right in that spot! 😡 Thanks for the info!

Hey so did you just remove the two back clips/screws section just to slightly lift it to get the item out? I have something stuck down there as well.. i dont wnat to have to take the entire console out...smh thanks for sharing

I don’t believe so. I honestly just did the most reasonable thing possible and switched Jeeps 😂
0:57 were you able to find the replacement part for the piece that you broke? I broke the same piece and my dealer is telling me they dont have a part number for it and i will have to buy the entire consul to fix it. Thanks

I ended up living with it. it’s a bit annoying because they switched the way the piece is made. It’s now two parts with the upper portion now being connected to the center console which bumps the price to like $300(links below):

Did you find the part number for the cover on the Ebrake? Before I saw your video I tried the same as you and I broke one of the clips :(

I guess one additional option is people are making e-brake the trim cover pieces that just overlay the factory piece 🤷♂️

I’m so sorry I missed this. So from all the research I did, in the JLs it’s one single unit that costs like $300. I ended up not replacing it
How do you remove the caps?
I used a set of car trim removal tools I have. Any sort of thin, sturdy plastic item would work as well. Flat head screw driver too but that’s less desirable since the metal could leave a mark.

Lol hate to say it..but glad I’m not the only one!
Went to the dealership yesterday and while waiting for the garage to be available, I decided to take my keys off the fob. Placed the keys into my right jacket pocket but the small key ring that holds the key to a lock box fell out of my pocket and into the console. Like you, I obliterated that piece and managed to get the key with a magnetic pickup pole. At least now I know how I'm able to retrieve the trim removal tool that I lost during said obliteration. Thanks!
