How to Replace Holden Captiva Exterior Door Handle 2006-2018 Outer

- In this video we will show you how to quickly and effectively remove and replace a Holden Captiva outer door handle. This video applies for CG 2006-2018.

I found a good way to attach yellow plastic piece to the rod. Just put the whole lock assembly in place. Remove inside door cover and reach into top right area, you'll feel the rod flapping around.
Step one is to put the rod into the hole that is part of the plastic element. Then while holding rod, push plastic clip into rod so it clips into place.
So the rod has 2 points of 'contact' with the yellow plastic. First point is for the end of the rod to be in the plastic hole. Second point is the clip portion of the plastic wrapping around the rod.
All this is done with one hand by reaching inside door cover.
Thanks for the video, instead of doing what you did with getting the yellow clip back on. I used some string to hold the bar in place and I was able to get that yellow clip back on without an issues

Glad I watched the whole video to see you having trouble replacing the part. Now I know what to avoid to simplify that. A pity your website only has black handles (".)
Too many paint codes to possibly even consider offering colour matched handles. They are ready to paint with super cheap colour coded spray cans. Thanks
@@thepartsfactory4239 Since my last comment I've just purchased a chrome one for $33 delivered. I couldn't imagine me trying to turn a black one into that with a spray can. 🤔

Would something like this work for a Holden Epica? I've got the door apart as the handle snapped off but I'm struggling to get the handle on with the lock. The lock is refusing to slide into place
You may need to hold the lever down as you slide it in. There should be a rod inside to pull on as you slide it in

You cannot. Remove door card and reach inside pull cable.

Helpppppp!!!! I got everything done up till the screwing the side screw in... same problem you had, I've been trying for 2 hours 😭
From memory the door handle cap binds as your tighten. Lift the handle up and insert the lock barrel at the same time. Maybe not sure cars not infront of me sorry

Thanks for the video but can you use some lights next time please. It's too dark to see what's going on clearly
Please DON'T attempt this repair. This guy makes it sound easy but it's not. He fails to tell you exactly how to remove and replace the key barrel so that the little plastic yellow attachment that holds it all together works. If fitted incorrectly it breaks and you will need to take it to an expert. Also he does not explain how the handle has to fit against the spring correctly, if it doesn't your handle won't open the door! So much for 15 minutes. It cost me $150 to get it properly fitted. Don't waste your time with a DIY!
Great stuff but the LS with keyless entry has a coloured insert and wires that go to a button it does look like the large connector does come out by removing a screw and replacing that part do you keep that part
