    Cons
    1. Blue Laws
Now, the Blue Laws are definitely a setback. But, you can also look at the picture from a different perspective.
If you don’t know what Blue Laws are, they were put into place here in Bergen County because lawmakers believed that the people living here needed at least one day of rest. What does that mean? Well, if you live here in Bergen County, every business absolutely has to be closed on Sundays, unless they are absolutely essential.
The only places that are open, are restaurants, parks, and other public spaces. But just about anything else is closed .
So if you looking to go around the county for shopping on Sunday it will not happen….
Some will look at this con as a pro since Sunday will be a great family day when shopping is not an option.
    2. Traffic
As great as the commute is here in Bergen County, with all the people living here (about 1M residence), the roads and streets can get pretty choked - especially on the weekend.
The reason behind all this traffic is the Blue Laws.
When the entire county shuts down on Sunday, the residents travel out of the county to entertain themselves.
Also Friday and Saturday are busy days on the roads as well since people are looking to do their shopping before Sunday .
So, always make sure to factor in the traffic if you’re planning to travel within the county - especially on the weekends.
