  • This video wasn't even supposed to be a video. I thought I would get stuck right away and that would be the end of it. Good thing I decided to record anyway.
    I take my ford bronco for another drive in deep snow. This time it was a lot deeper and tougher for the Bronco. Also my first time airing down to 6psi.
    My 2 Door Ford Bronco Badlands with 35' Toyo MT's performed better than I imagined in the snow.

    Tires + Clearance + Lockers + RPMs is what makes it possible. Great job. Tires that don't clear out as well as yours might have had an easier time at first, because they would hold onto the snow, creating traction (snow is sticky to other snow) and possibly sitting more on top of the snow. But overall it looks like it did well.

    I'm really liking your videos. It's like learning right beside you. I have a new Bronco so it is good to see you in action. 6 PSI is probably fine in soft snow. I watched another channel where a guy in a Jeep was going through different pressures; he got down to 5 PSI and 8 psi and kept losing his bead but he was on harder snow and ruts. 10 psi worked in that condition. Also at 5 psi if you go faster and turn you may break your bead. Good content.

    • @NorthShoreOverland
      @NorthShoreOverland  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! Yea, I guess every tire is different too. These Toyo MT's are pretty stiff. But the Sasquatch Goodyear might not keep the bead that low. Something to be carefull of.

    It would be helpful to know what GOAT modes you're using, locker settings, sway bar, transmission gear (was that mainly 1st or 2nd?) and RPM. I realize you didn't think you were going to make it very far. Nice to have your own playground/test area in the backyard! Well done.

    • @NorthShoreOverland
      @NorthShoreOverland  Před 2 lety +9

      No GOAT mode.... .Had it in 4 lo, both lockers on. For the most part I was in first gear, then moved up to 2nd gear to go up the hill at the end. And the last lap I did it all in 2nd gear. RPM's where mostly around 3000 fluctuating a bit higher. It's so tight with all the trees that 4 high is too fast. Yea, it's my own little track haha. I love it. Neighbors must think I'm crazy.

    You stated that you aired down to 6psi? I understood the bronco wheels were “bead lock capable”, but were not actually engaged from the factory…. So were your tires’ bead lock not actually locked? Super impressed if they weren’t and still stayed on!

  • @brent1041
    @brent1041 Před 2 lety

    If you had actually snow tires that wouldn’t have been so difficult. With winter tires and a but of speed a 2wd truck could get through that too. The tires you have on there are pretty terrible for snow and winter traction.

    • @NorthShoreOverland
      @NorthShoreOverland  Před 2 lety +1

      I 100% agree with you that winter tires are better than Mud Terrain's in the snow. But I think we need to calm down a little about a 2wd truck making it through that. Trees are so tight there you have no chance for speed most of the way through. My buddy has a bronco with 35" Nokian winter tires on. We keep trying to get together to test them out. That would be interesting.
