Gibson Slash J45 Demo and Sound Overview

- Yep, checking out the relatively new Slash model J-45.
Slash's signature J45 features a rounded C-neck profile, a flatter and more modern 16'' fingerboard radius, and a LR Baggs pickup. Exclusive to this guitar are a “Scully” signature drawing on the back of the headstock, and Slash’s signature on the truss rod cover. The top is Sitka Spruce, Back and Sides are mahogany. This is the Vermillion Burst.

I played one of these last weekend and it sounded fantastic, really comfortable neck. Stronger bass response than the standard in my experience.

That neck is super fat for me . But you get use to it in a few days. Sent it back and ordered a Gibson j45 standard. The epiphone j45 ibg sounds better than the Gibson j45. Sending the Gibson back because of super bad playability and intonation is off by a country mile. Now reordering the epiphone

I'll keep my standard j-45. This sounds great but not as great as the standard. It is ok probably a decked out j-45 with the price jacked up.

It has the "modern" 16" fretboard radius that Martin has used for a hundred years. (Love Gibson's standard 12" radius myself).

Funny how close to a standard, but not exactly. Sounds more brittle. Not a fan of the color, or Slash exactly.

Well it seems like a total scam, but dang does mine sound good. $3500 for putting a smile on my face every day. It's actually pretty cheap if you ask me. Best acoustic I've ever owned.
