Bob Bailey was an incredible radio performer. Very sad he had such an awful demise. RIP and thanks for leaving us such great memories of Johnny Dollar.

I don’t know about you, but I was right there in the middle of the desert at a lone motel right along with Mr. Dollar.
The writers of this series really knew what they were doing, describing images and scenes so clearly, using direct and indirect characterization to bring the characters alive, and using humor, asides and sarcasm with expertise. So well written, but it doesn’t fly for modern audiences who may not be used to exercising their imaginations.

Now that was right fun. I hate that rattle. A,friend went to Montana to a ranch, brought me a couple ratler tails. The women out there wear them as earrings. I couldn't do it so I left them in a jar outside...after a few months they stunk like Hell. Creepy.
Johnny, we were ahead of you on this one. But, the show had to last at least 4 episodes.

Yep. Like The Saint, Boston Blackie, Box 13, etc...always with the blackjack getting whacked over the head.
I use to cringe the amount of time Rockford got beaned. A normal human would have died.
These blokes should be dead from concussion. Every episode!!!

I’m sorry that I was born in the middle of the radio and tv times I have no tv have an iPod which I can play your program all day and night I have a lot of fun playing with what I can play with what each player is doing for the script and then I play with them all over again and I have to be in my room at times so I have to think like that detective works and I’m usually on the same side and I’m just like 85%rightas I know I’m just 70yrs I just been reading mystery books for 64 years and I’m not even going to do anything with my life anymore as I have Parkinson’s and won’t be able to get my books out of the library as I have your program and I’m going to have a good time until I get to see my Lord I love the new one s keep them coming and then they will have a great time too I talking about the young people thanks for all
Skips at 16:32 so not sure if a portion of book is missing, if I jumped to a future chapter, etc. Would suggest updating description to inform listeners of the situation. Otherwise, they'll likely quit listening rather than investigating more time .
