Great Video! I've subscribed. Quick Question - Is the Amazfit Bip S is only sold in "Chinese" from where I live (imported from China). Is there a way to change the language on the watch so that it will appear as English? Hope that you can answer soon as I will order one today as a gift. Thanks! 🙂
I believe so. Once you get it, tether it to the Amazfit app (now called Zepp) on your phone and the language should change.
Hey, great review! I just wondering is this device save data when we cut the bluetooth connection? For example in a swimming pool, sometimes we can swim far from the phone you know. Thank you! 😄
It should save all data on the watch and transfer to the app when connected again, but I haven't tested the pool data. Good point you make.
I used to have the BIP first gen, very satisfied with it, esp. with the long battery life. Now I've got the Amazfit GTS, basically the same as the BIP, but with a crispy OLED display, nice, but of course the battery life is about 10 days with regular GPS use once a day.
Yea, screens are the biggest power eater.
One more remark: I had my BIP data synchronized with the Amazfit, then I installed the GTS and it shows data from *both* watches, so it seems data is kept within the cloud server
Can't wait to buy this one. I have an original Bip and its amazing. If this one is better that would make this the best kept secret watch.

That button is programmable.
Nope, that can be programmed just for activities. Though you can add an icon on watchface on one of the watchfaces.
All watches do that I wish you would have went into dialing ability if it has that plus showing what notifications from texts and so forth work.. otherwise good info.

I would recommend allowing an hour for all the updates and getting it set up properly. You might be able to do it in less time, depending on your connection.

I still have the original bip, but upgraded to an Apple Watch over a year ago, which I deeply regret, because the battery life was amazing. If xiomi managed to cram an NFC chip into this for mobile payments/ transit access then I’d switch back in an instant.

There's no REM (rapid eye movement) data for the sleep on that Bip S & no camera shutter feature too but it has GPS, Compass, & Always On Screen... you missed out on the Timer & Countdown feature of the BIP S including the sleep data. I decided to buy the Xiaomi Miband 5 so i can wear both my traditional diver's watch (automatic) & wear the fitness band at the same time. No compass but i just use my Diver's watch Bezel & the SUN as my compass during daytime. Not so convenient compass but it's a real compass that works & no need for calibration. 8-)

Pretty sure the Stratos like does it well. They are up to Stratos 3 now. The "Pace" was the precursor to the Stratos and it could handle offline music on the watch, too. Got reviews up on all of them. Just use the magnifying glass and search on "Amazfit" at smartwatchticks.com

These companies don't appear to update hardware often but instead release new sensors in new models from time to time.

You should get it partially charged, but it's a good idea to to ahead and top it off by charging it all the way to 100%. It will help calibrate the battery voltage of your unique battery to the 100% level recognized by the watch.

I've been waiting months for my Bip S arrived. My first Bip is dead after I tried to load a Bip S watchface onto it unknowingly and it will brick your Bip.

Now that's an interesting question. I don't think the Big S has enough memory for that. I'm pretty sure the Stratos 3 can handle it and the T-Rex is somewhere in-between. Good question!

I don't see stopwatch. Of course, you can start any activity and that starts a stopwatch and monitors hour heart rate and other parameters at the same time. You just don't have access to split times.

That may not be possible on the Big S. If I didn't cover it in the review, it's probably stuck on metric. If there is a setting, it will probably be in the app.

Change to what you want
You can install the app "My WatchFace" ti enable selecting your 5 favorite faces out of hundreds of colorful, detailed, stylish & different content varieties - very recommended!

i brought it thou..but the sleep tracking is kind of werid...tracks all day when your not using the watch and the heart rate detects even without the skin contact! have your device do that or is it my unit?
I almost upgraded to this one from my Bip but $82 is too much for this. For that same amount you can get a GTR Lite or what I bought, a far superior to the Bip Huawei GT for $100 at Amazon. I love my Bip but I only paid $52 shipped for it last year from Gearbest.

Realme S08 is an Android watch. Bip S is a fitness watch. You probably want both.
