  • United's Polaris Business Class has long been lauded as the best of the US airlines. But what's it like in 2022 to actually fly it? Join me for my first time flying it on a 767-300 from Newark to London.
I paid 73,100 United Miles + $5.60 for this one way ticket.

Nice review mate, I am taking this same 10pm flight, and sitting 3A in a few weeks. I'll let you know if that sad looking window shade in 5A has been replaced! Safe Travels Amigo!

To be clear, to be farther from the aisle, window seats (single) one should choose an odd seat numbers

I’m taking this between Dulles and Denver on my way home from a connection from Toronto. Really looking forward to my flight in a week and a half

I just got San Francisco to Tahiti on UA in the new 787-9 Polaris J class for 55K Aeroplan points per person (just two weeks before flying). It's actually an amazing deal that we were lucky to get. Sadly, no availability (yet) for the return. But we'll keep checking.

There's a bus shuttle between terminals A ,B and C that remains airside, bypassing security. It's next to Gate A28 and would have lett you off at Gate C70.

In theory yes. But due to construction I wasn’t able to get to it, I asked.

Overall, what are your thoughts of Terminal C? Does it deserve the hate that EWR in general gets?

So I didn't spend much time in the terminal itself...the lounge was nice, and the restaurants in the concourse had the fancy ipad ordering...but the gate area itself was pretty dilapidated. I haven't had the pleasure of spending a lot of time there, and have no desire to!

I departed and arrived at Terminal C to/from Milan (Malpensa) just a few weeks ago. I used to fly A LOT before the pandemic, but this was my first international flight in two years. The terminal itself was fine, more functional than an "ooh and ahh" type of facility. Everything went smoothly, on-time. I'm actually drawing a blank (sorry, couldn't resist!) about the experience because there was nothing that stood out, positive or negative. One of my sons dropped me off and picked me up, so I didn't need public transport.

your seat was tight because odd numbered seats have more privacy!

Delta One is so pretty good. some say even better, since the service is better.

The new suites? Sure that’s quite possible. But Delta’s business class is so inconsistent that unless you really an avgeek you’ll have no idea what you are actually going to get! It’s on the list to try, just nearly impossible to find award space anywhere I’d want to go.

With all these reviews and how I got the ticket for $5.60, soon everybody will fly on points while the number of seats remain the same. This will lead to an imbalance between supply and demand and ultimately a rise in the number of points required for a seat.

You’re right of course, but I doubt that my 5k subscriber channel has sufficient reach. The difference though is that I don’t immediately shill credit cards to get you there.
Award availability is very stingy at this point, but it’s not just because of videos like this. American never has saver business space (and in fact got rid of the tier). United is quite challenging to find. It is what it is, and if you play this hobby seriously and in the long term, you learn to just roll with the punches.
