I don’t know how to exactly start this out, so forgive me if I come across as awkward. Thanks to your One Piece spread and your clown drawings, I actually got some Ohuhu Liquid Fineliner Pens and a box of the Arrtx acrylic paint markers. They’ve been wonderful to work with and I wouldn’t have gotten them without your videos. (Plus, if you want other recommendations for Greek Mythology games; I recommend Fenyx; Immortals Rising, Medusa’s design is so good.)

I’m so invested in your art at this point It just makes me so happy, I’ve been telling my boyfriend all about it too because red dead, fallout, the last of us, cyberpunk, Witcher, LOTR, are the things he talks about all the time and he’s loved some of the stuff of yours I’ve shown him. It´s wholesome how you talk about your changing obsessions. My favorite pages are the Spiderverse themed cause the compossion and coloring.
I also love to draw fanart and refer to my scetchbooks as nerd books cause you can see what shows and characters took over my brain for a while. ^^

idk if anyones said it but!! they make much softer linoleum blocks! kind of like eraser texture. You end up getting less small detail from them because they crumble easier, but I find them sooo much more enjoyable to carve that I just design around knowing that... loved ur vid!!

@@staticwool no problem!!! i had started one with the same type you used and i never finished it. i think heating the tough ones up in an oven or microwave is supposed to make it easier too but i havent tried it!

Seeing all your art is such a treat, i love your spreads and use of color
Also for the fading print things i recommend putting some tape on top, it should stop most of the friction thats causing the fading, thats what i ahve done when i had it happened with a couple of stickers and it seemed to work

Yes! I have ohuhu art markers (not the ones in the bag) which are alcohol based. And they leak yellow pigment into the second page. It’s really annoying. It ruins the pages😭 so with some pages in my sketchbook. I try to stick a piece of parchment paper in between which stops the bleeding a little bit🤏

Your sketchbook tour is amazing !! I really like your style and the fact that it's so colorful !!! It's really sad for your lino...I have art class and during one of them my prof show us to make that. He said that if we use acryliques paint for a lino there a lot of chances that the liquid destroy a part of it, that's why we're supposed to use special inks. I don't know if it's what happend to you or just bad luck- but i just place that here if it can help ! (sorry if it's not really correct, i'm french 😅😭)
Oh no I had no idea they could destroy them 😯 definitely gonna stop using that then. I might look into finding the specific inks, but I think I might be done with stamp making 😂

Yellow stains occur when you use alcohol markers and you don't let the paper fully dry and "breath" for few hours (I usually leave them for a day or longer).
From my understanding, it's caused by the fumes from whatever alcohol they use to produce the inks.
I ruined quite a few drawings and sketchbook spreads before I figured it out. 😅
Edit: I forgot to add, but it isn't exclusive to markers, it also happens if you use certain alcohol based fineliners, pens, etc!
Odd, it's never happened with any of my other alchohol markers, and this page for Sanjoki had A LOT of breathing time 😂 Genuinely just think these are cheap pens and that's why it happened

Thank you! And no I don't think I did. We kinda just did it impulsively so were only using what we had around. Definitely need to get the right stuff if I plan on doing it again 😊

I love your artstyle so much! Your sketchbooktours motivate me to pick up my pencil and draw in my own sketchbook. I do have a question though. What do you use or do to prevent your pencil drawings from smudging?
I used to use a fixative spray (Winsor & Newton - You can also use hairspray as a cheaper alternative but this will eventually yellow your pages) but recently I stopped using it coz the pictures have just kinda stopped smudging for some reason. It also helps that when I'm drawing on reverse sides of pages I put scrap paper between a bunch of previous pages so that the pressure I'm applying doesn't cause the previous pages to smudge or ghost or whatever it's called 😅 it can be a bit of a hassle at times but it's incredibly helpful 👌

For your black and white sketches, are you using pencil. If yes, what are you doing to keep them from being faded. The lines still remain crisp and sharp that I almost thought it was ink
Yeah it's using my Mechanical pencil Pentel Click Twist - Erase 0.5 using 2B. I usually thicken my lines a lot which might be what makes them look sharp, but I also put scrap pages in between previous pages when drawing on the left pages to prevent smudging of the other drawings. I hope this helps ☺
