    As a 65 year old, 60 years a Hammer (school colours were claret and blue), like Chris have seen the decades of West Ham teams. If any of the the club owners had ever taken the fan base seriously (estimated 1 million Hammer fans in UK alone) there would have been some incredible years. There is not a WHUFC fan on the board now, not from the heart, Gold was before departing. Kris's passion, clarity in emotional expression, respectful too (Mr Moyes etc) was great to listen to. Thank you all for the 41.58 mins of entertainment and a reality check.

    VAR can’t help, play acting, no contact football. The product in general is tedious. Look at the England game last night. What a waste of time for anybody who attended that. But how can any sporting event ever beat Aka on the line against a stumbling Pettigrew. One of the most joyous sporting moments of my life.

    I love Kris; we started following the Irons at the same time. All media outlets take note. It's not the stadium. Yesterday, Saturday, 23/03/24, I watched Spain vs. Columbia. The atmosphere was cracking. What Kris has highlighted is that serving 2 banks of 4 with attackers defending for 65-70 minutes for three years plus has worn a lot of us out. The ending was absolutely brilliant, guys!

    Personally I think Antonio is a far better enabler than he is a goal scorer. In 10 seasons he has never scored more than 10 league goals for us. BUT, he gives us an out ball when we're backs to the wall, holds the ball up superbly and gives others time to get forward. I do wish he wouldn't throw himself to the ground so often and we're going to have to ween ourselves (Moyes) onto a different way of playing due to his age. I'm with Kris on our playing style.

    Great interview! This has to be Moyes greatest achievement, he has managed to bore and unenthuse the worlds most enthusiastic man, that is some going.
    Just to add on the West Ham havent always been great point , this is very true but it was never by design. We have been poor through lack of investment and just not having good players but this is different. We have great players but the manager is deliberately stopping them playing great football, that’s what I find unforgivable.

    @beatonthedonis Před měsícem +4

    If you look at the teams that play high-intensity or all-out attacking football, like Leeds under Bielsa, Liverpool, Brighton, Newcastle etc, they've all suffered massive injury crises. Liverpool has a squad that can handle it, but the others couldn't/can't, and West Ham definitely couldn't. However, Moyes could certainly manage games better and balance the sitting back with the attacking, and bring players off earlier when they're knackered. But the players who aren't first-choice are atrophying both physically and mentally, so the first-choice players end up playing 90 after 90.

    I'm a regular follower of your videos and this one is exceptional
    I've been supporting West Ham since the early 60's
    I used to never miss our home matches at the Boleyn and went to many of our away matches
    I moved up North in the mid 70's but still travelled down to watch home games from time to time (a 550.mile round trip) and went to many of our away matches in Lancashire and the North East
    Unfortunately I've become an armchair fan now and find that all the excitement and joy has been sucked out of the game by uninspiring negative football and VAR looking for every possible reason to disallow goals
    I fully agree with what Kris said and he summed up my feelings in a nutshell

    100% Chris….i done more than 40 yrs as a regular at the Boleyn…the move broke my heart…the football drains my soul. Born and bred in Stratford and ain’t been to the fish bowl once and don’t see it happening, at least till there’s been a redevelopment in the spectating conditions and a style of football worth spending on the day over a oner on all in all. Can’t afford to take the kids or grandkids anyway. Football was for the low paid , hard working community…not no more. I really get where Chris is coming from. We are a similar age and I go back to watching West Ham for the last 45/50 years. I was born in sight of the Boleyn. It's not so much the football for me (although I'd like it to be more entertaining) for me it's the match day experience.
    I've been a season ticket holder for many years. My journey now I've moved house, is a 5/6 hour round trip every game from the Suffolk coast. I'm even contemplating not going to the Spurs game. Unheard of ! With a ridiculous kick off time of 815, I won't get home much before 1am if not later and to be honest I don't know if I can be bothered when I can watch it on a stream. Hmm.. I think it cant be underestimated, how the development of modern football the past 10 years also has a say in peoples opinions of their clubs. So many things going the wrong way, one could easily write an essay about it. Its not always about managers, tactics or specific players.
    I mean, back in the day, if you said to your mate, Im not watching the rest of the season with you because I dont like our playing style, he would think u were coming down with something. Supporting a club has changed. Dramatically.

    I don't think there's anyone on planet earth that can match Kriss's energy. Love it. Seems Kriss's thoughts are a familiar theme with a lot of fans. I think a big part of why it's different now is we have much better players than we used to have and don't see us try and play to our potential enough.
    Then you have the small minority that only care if we're doing well in the top end of the table and don't care how bad the football is. It's just about results for them.
    Couldnt agree more on the Kalvin Phillips. I never understood the move. He's damaged goods.
