Much as I admire Twinkle for her astral beauty, I'm really saddened by the spectacle our Lit-fests provide what with thorough ignoramuses descanting on matters literary in their inane style. It would be instructive to ask these media-created celebs be it Chetan Bhagat, Shobhaa De or even Twinkle Khanna whether they know anything about writing in English in general and about Indian Writing in English in particular, whether they have ever tried to imbibe the tradition of English writing by reading at least modern literary geniuses like Eliot, Ezra Pound, James Joyce and Virginia Woolf or, nearer home, of Aurobindo, Desani, Amitabh Ghosh and so on. It's a tragic spectacle indeed and a bitter comment on the state and standard of our euphemistically called literature festivals and on how our literatti and public are irredeemably vulgarized. Looking at such 'events' and how starlets like Twinkle and Shobhaa De strut on stage there, one is reminded of Shaw's acute observation that awards distinguish mediocrities; similarly of Auden who says pithily that the world gives prizes to ruined boys!!!

First of all, I wanted to share some veiws on this actor Akshay Kumar.Today all actor and actress behave like they are always right and always make ppl follow what they are doing.Let me explain in breif,Actors and actress like these also promote songs like alcohol like"Mai pee nhi hai,Alcholic,Hooka maar" and cheap comedy on women and other cheap stuffs.Why they bcm double standard now.Just to show how good they are.Akshay had played with many girls.What about those girls.Now he is holding feminism topic.And her wife makes cheap jokes on other ppl and promote funny bones like books etc.Why? Double standard.Just to get money and fame out of it.Ppl are blindly follow them.I don't speak on Akshay only there are other actors and actresses.What awareness they wanted to spread.I respect if any actor and actress spread awareness of good topics but they should not make double standards.Because ppl follow all kinds of things. Remaking English and other language movies is not a way of change.These actors take public money.So indeed their responsibility is to show what is really inspiring.In some way he is good actor but sometimes he and his wife play double standards
Why do people have this bad habit of shaking their leg while talking? Didn't her teachers at boarding school teach her it is not a good thing? And for everyone out there questioning her about how she manages to be creative, the key is to marry a rich/well placed spouse (whether husband or wife), cos while there is another person putting bread on the table, its easy to let the imagination flow.....nothing wrong in it....in fact, its a smart thing to do. Look at the successful Indian writers like Chetan B, Shobha De, etc. (who write for Indians. I am not talking about the Vikram Seths, the Salman Rushdies or the Anita Desais: to be successful at that level one needs a privileged background, possibly an ivy league degree and most imp of all, entry into the hallowed network of international writers). They (Chetan or Shobha or Twinkle) are not my favourite but they certainly are sucessful....

MAHAshwetha rao first of all the language and syntax you are using displays your lack of understanding the context of my comment. It is not intended for trolls like you. In all good schools (especially those run by europeans, one of which Twinkle has attended) and well educated homes, children are taught not just to speak and write well but also to manage their body language. Shaking the leg while speaking is considered extremely ill mannered and a sign of bad upbringing. In the matter of the second point, you have again missed it completely and it is you who needs to listen to the interview again. It is in response to several questions put to Twinkle about how she manages to be so creative and how she turns out such funny stuff. I have been a writer too and my experience has been that it is easier to let one's imagination flow free and find one's creative sweet spot if the onus of providing basics for the family is already taken care of. And for your information, the wives of successful men may not all be writers, but many of them are busy following their hearts and are famous interior designers, running NGOs, etc., following their passions, because they have that relaxed mental space to be creative. Some people can be creative under pressure too and in any circumstance, but most people need the freedom from the pressures of everyday life to churn out the good stuff. As for you, you need to develop some more insight and depth of life experiences and understanding of the english language before attempting to understand other people's comments here and unnecesarily trolling them
Twinkle you should talk less about yourself and more about what your at the venue for. Your a privileged woman with all of it in life and there is very little of hard work that shows in you.
