    Definately need to get this 3D print from Thingyverse, looks really nice indeed. And Yes ! those are the greenhouses housing the Mandrakes and other weird and wonderful Potter Plants.

      Thanks! Good to know. Is there a canonical floorplan somewhere? I've looked around and seen a lot of fan art, but nothing official.

    • @subliminalstyrene811
      @subliminalstyrene811 Před 3 lety +6

      @@wargameexplorer I myself have trawled through the net looking for an official floorplan because I was thinking of making the castle myself out of styrene, but alas I did not find an official one......however I have the big 3D puzzle of Hogwarts and that and your 3D Print floorplan are both exactly the same. So if you really want an exact floorplan, I would go with the 3D Print you have, it seems to be the most accurate.

      @@wargameexplorer Forgot to mention, somewhere in the UK, is the official model castle made for the movies and it's layout seems to be pretty much the same is your 3D Print, so I would take that as an official floorplan.

    Cannot speak from experience because i have no printer or plans/budget for one for a while, but Danny from the channel "3D Printed Tabletop" has worked on settings to print very decent level models and even minis on filament printers, you might want to check it out for the future, i imagine there's a tradeoff (maybe it's much slower, maybe it uses more filament or whatever), but for special prints sounds like it'd be worth it.
    Great result! Should look great on a desk by the computer or something :)

    7:23 Seven of those buildings are indeed greenhouses and one of them is the Herbology teacher's office. In the Chamber of Secrets the buildings can be seen closer when the camera zooms in on them in the "Mandrake potting"-scene.

    I think there's a thing you can do by leaving prints in some acetone fumes in a container for a few minutes. Gets rid of the little bits of filament.

    I don’t understand this Hogwarts layout. There are two astronomy towers (one facing towards the back like in HP 1 & 2, and the other facing forward like in the rest of HPs), the bridge from HP 7 which replaced the bridge connecting the library to the main courtyard which was in HP 1-6 (either one is fine but not both)

    What kind of filament do you print with> I have recently started getting into resin print, and it came with a lot of offset problems because of my software. They are indeed greenhouses they appear for a bit in the second film and the half blood prince. An Aerial view of them can be seen here czcams.com/video/G17jQg_pUJg/video.html.

      So far I use Hatchbox PLA 1.75mm. But it's the only kind I've tried so far, so I don't know if I would like others better.
