- 'The Mill' is a Channel 4 drama series based on the real lives of the owners, workers and apprentices of Quarry Bank Mill in the 1830s. This video takes a look behind the scenes of filming at the National Trust owned mill in early 2013 and interviews cast and crew including Kevin McNally, Kerrie Hayes and Donald Sumpter.

This is without a doubt one of the best national trust property's I've visited I'm really looking forward in going back very soon, I've just watched eps4 its been a brilliant series well made and very well acted really interesting to watch, well done to all involved.

Having watched all the episodes of "The Mill" I can say that it's been very enlightening, how humanity got to that place is astounding and disgraceful.
The lesson to us all is that we must guard always not to allow those who would, take us back to those times.
I really hope the series carry on, i think that Esther Price is what enlightens the whole thing
This is a fairy tail mills in Cheshire mills like that one.
Bolton Lancashire 1780 243 cotton mills, 10 bleach works etc.
Weaving sheds with 500 looms 13 hour days 6 days a week no holidays
And the windows were white washed to keep sun light out and keep the humidity up.
Well, that's up to Channel 4 but we very much hope so.

I found that the machines were amazing and how they worked.but how the children worked was just horrbile.but it was a great day out
