Ultron saw the world humanity had made and decided the best way to save it was destroy it. Wars over what his mechanical mind could only conceive as petty reasons. Exploiting our world and poisoning it. Treating each other like animals and using one another as tools. Just look at the Maximoffs. In his mind he wasn't a villain, he just didn't see any other way.
He was originally supposed to be so much more terrifying in the comics. Basically just one big nano machine robot, that didn't really have one standard form.
i know wath you will think but, i think Ultron was rigth with is meteore. It's only when the humanity face a mondial treath that the humanity will unite and put difference behind. In his case he will play the role of a villain to unite the world and i have nothing but respect and compassion for him
