- Now that The First Omen is out in theaters I decided to go on a journey with JoeyC and Casey to find out which movie in The Omen franchise is the worst one! Is is the sequel about teenage Damien? Could it be the one with adult Damien played by Sam Neil? How about the made for TV sequel about his daughter? Or maybe it'll be a toss up between the remake of the prequel. Watch to find out!

Omen IV was co-directed by the same guy who made Halloween V, so no wonder that it turned out to be a garbage Sequel.
I didn't even realize that pretentious French hack had ever made another movie, lmao.
The Omen 3: The Final Conflict is BEYOND underrated! Sam Neill is fantastic as an adult Damien who has embraced his destiny and who has no problem slaughtering children to protect his own ass. The ending was a bit rushed and anticlimactic. I'll admit that, but everything leading up to that was great. Not sure why it doesnt get more attention.
I loved that you made the Seinfeld references at the beginning. I also wonder how many times you said "jackal."

The omen never really did it for me but as a horror fan I gotta say the 1st one is till my favorite. The scene where she jumps off the roof still gives me chills today…
I'd say the worst one are the two sequels to the original. The original is so good!!! Also yay for Casey and Joey C!!

You're nuts, that effect of the mom falling to the floor was ingenious, and it's always stuck out to me as being a great practical effect. I've always seen it being done slowly as a stylistic choice, not to make it cheesy. I'll tell you this, it looks ten times better than most of the computerized crap we get today
Fun fact: here in Latin America Rhe Omen series was known as "The Prophecy" (maybe because there's not an exact translation for the word Omen in Spanish) and that continued until the most recent prequel which is called "The First Prophecy"

According to wikipedia the villains in the first movie at least are not devil worshipers they're actual demons, I am just going to ignore that because I think it's more interesting that they're human

Years ago i saw a show about how movies construct horror scenes, and they talked about the David Warner decapitation scene and they said that the long length of the scene was intentional because they knew people in the audience would cover their eyes or look away, and they wanted it up there long enough so that when they looked back they'd still see the head rolling.

I'm from Europe and have only ever seen one of those continuous lifts/elevators once in Germany in a hotel I was staying in freaked me the hell out. It was a local a attraction and drunk people would come in from bars to show their pals and the go up and down on the freaky thing.

You really should check out good omens. It’s basically a parody of the omen “what if the demon botched the baby switch at the end and he grew up like a regular kid?”
The ice scene in Omen 2 fucked me up as a kid.
The First Omen emulating Possesion as a nod to The Final Conflict is a great example of why I love the world of filmmaking.
It's been ages since I watched the original 3, and actually thought the ending of the 2nd happened in the 1st. I also only watched them aired on TV, so I believe a lot of the kills were censored because I don't remember any gore. Looks like I need to find and rewatch.

The one thing that I will give The Omen 2 credit for, is that it gave Metallica inspiration for their song "Trapped Under Ice".
1st one's best. That naff one with the girl is worst... Bit where that woman gets launched by that truck in II, funniest moment of the OG trilogy, followed by Gregory Pecks expression in 1, when they realise his kids Mum's a dog. Ultimately, GOD and Jesus win ! So cracking result all round.... 👍Well, apart from the accidents and the weird stuff and that completely unnecessary scene for scene remake. 😂
I have a theory as to why theres so many spoilers on the back of the vhs'
It used to be months (US) to years (UK/EUROPE) before a movie from the cinema came to home video, sometimes the titles would be localised to a new title. I think they put so much of the movie's plot on the back to jogg the possible purchaser/renter's memory of a movie they saw or heard about when it was in the cinema

Great episode! Personally, I prefer a little known film called The Godsend from 1980 to the Omen.
Still hoping to see the new one especially with how it's doing in theaters. As for the series I've only seen the remake which I enjoy as a dumb, fun flick. Especially at the end when Baylock gets pummeled by that car. Legit one of the hardest times I've ever laughed. That last 15 mins. makes the whole movie for me.

Awww man! Damien: Omen II rules!! The moment the film starts and we’ve got the main theme playing while Bugenhagen is driving like a madman through the streets, I’m instantly ready to stage dive and rip faces off! The kills in the film rule. Glad we can all agree on the remake being the worst though! Easily the best thing about that remake was seeing it on 6/6/06 (and the huge crowd laughter when Mrs Baylock flipped over the car). 😅

Hopefully this franchise keeps improving after The Omen 3 and doesn't end up like the Amytiville series.

there's a really good underrated horror movie from 1981 thats about an anti christ. It's called Fear No Evil which was a little cheesy but it was a little scary to watch especially if you were an 80s child like me back in the day

Only good thing about Amityville 92 was that it was straight to VHS and had the original Alien 3 trailer with the "on Earth everyone can here you scream" tag line on it. Which was great till the actual movie, ALIEN: Prisoner Cell Block Wank, came out... Other than that it was pretty awful... Much like your attitude.

You'll definitely get more views if you do Taxi Driver or any other great De Niro movie. As you once said "Frankenstein was one of our biggest episodes" and that ain't even one of the great De Niro movies. Or you could do another Leprechaun movie. Leprechaun back 2 tha Hood really pulled in those views.

When they start talking about the first omen, once again Tony does what he does all the time, and gets hung up on the absolute dumbest, nitpicky crap. It's a great prequel, through and through, and the issues you have with it are beyond stupid. The ending wasn't even remotely fumbled. And dude, the jackal is very easily explained. In the first film, the only evidence they have of the jackal being a female is because of the grave it's in. They clearly just buried the burned up male jackal from the prequel in that woman's grave to cover up evidence of its existence. It's as simple as that. But no, it's much easier to say a film is ruined because of something dumb.

@HackTheMovies I hate A Good Day to Die Hard. Only thing I hate on the Behind Enemy Lines is the SAM Scene they don’t do that but I knew the pilot that did that scene.
i rewatched the first 3 before watching the prequel and i'm with tony on the jackal thing.
The jackal thing is gonna land mixed with people. It didn't bother me, but I get why it would bother some. Maybe if the movie was bad I would mind it more, but since it's very good, I'm willing to just let it go. I'll just consider it a soft reboot/reimagining of the original story.

I worked at a movie theatre during the remake. We made a cheesecake drenched in red strawberry syrup and a alcholic mix drink that had dry ice in it as a combo..More memorable than the actual movie..Well ill just say Happy Birthday you Jackal...
